The countless flip-flops of Donald Trump...

It's totally clear that he lost the popular votes by roughly 3 million. The Democrats consistently get more votes than the Republicans because their message resonates more.

"Winning every state he had to win" is literally the bare minimum required to be elected. By this standard, ANY election is a landslide.
That's bullshit; the Democrats consistently get more votes because they cheat.

Why are you so resistent to the actual numbers that you resort to such playground retorts?

I've posted the historical facts, Jack. This was no landslide, let alone a massive one.

“one of the biggest Electoral College victories in history” is actually one of the least impressive. Here are the facts:

  • In terms of his Electoral College margin, which will probably end up at 306 to 232, Trump will rank #46 among the 58 presidential elections that have been held, or just above the bottom 20%.
  • In terms of his popular vote margin, Trump will probably end up with the third-worst popular vote result ever, or if you prefer 56th ranked of the 58winning candidates in history. (Obviously the 58 elections have produced 45 presidents, some of them winning two terms and FDR winning four.) This ranking is based on Trump’s losing the popular vote to Hillary Clinton by a little more than 2 percent, or a little less than 3 million votes. John Quincy Adams lost the popular vote by 10 percent in 1824 to Andrew Jackson, and also came in second in the electoral vote—but became president when the race went to the House, since none of the four candidates had an Electoral College majority. He is #58 out of 58, in terms of popular-vote mandate for winners. Rutherford B. Hayes, who won the electoral college while losing the popular vote by 3 percent to Samuel Tilden in 1876, is #57. Donald Trump, losing by 2 percent, is #56. Every president except J.Q. Adams and Hayes came to office with a stronger popular-vote mandate than Trump...

Lying about it won't bring Hillary back, and it won't save Obama's legacy, if it be advisable to even call it a legacy. So why don't you stop trying to make chicken salad out of chicken shit.

It is what it is Jack...and what it isn't. No legacy involved, no Hillary involved, other than as the losing candidate in the EC vote.

To me, you're the one working to turn to crap into gold...

I mean...you do understand numbers, right?

Exponentially speaking yes I do. Do you understand voter enthusiasm, fervor and passion. We who gave trump his massive victory and mandate, are the same ones who gave him a majority in both Houses of Congress. Whether you think his numbers are not large enough to call it a massive win or a mandate, is irrelevant. He's doing everything that a mandate would have authorized him to do. So if you think he didn't get enough votes to do what he is now doing, eat shit and get over it. We won the election, you didn't.

Exponentially speaking??? More and more rapidly speaking? So...to me, the answer is no, you do not understand numbers.

You claim to be a writer, yet you don't care one whit about words when you're in the grasp of the GOP monster. You'll literally say any silly thing, and be proud of it. It's a weird approach, but hey, to each their fantastical own. Ain't that America...

This is what I understand. Trump won the office. Digest that so you stop with the third grade whine "we won, you didn't". Remember, "we" won in 2008 and 2012. Really...get out of elementary school.

This is also what I understand...the victory was not massive. It was not a landslide. Get it? Victory? Do you see the word??? Do you understand what it means? Trump won...by a small margin. It isn't really that hard, for a junior high schooler.

Then why can't you seem to grasp how big a win it was for the good guys?

I fail to understand the question. One, these guys are as far from "good" as one can imagine. You certainly aren't "good" as your long parade of linguistic mendacity shows. Such usage, once again, indicates your lack of care regarding the meanings of words.

Why do you feel the need to attempt to make people believe the victory was larger than it was? Is it the fact that once again, the Republican Party received fewer votes in the Presidential election? Do you feel the need to trump up this narrow victory into your fantasy "massive landslide" because you realize how pathetic it was and very unpopular and unlikable the Trump family is?

Corruptbuddha

Trump lied like a rug to get elected. What makes you think he's going to change now? I'm just hoping his new policies will be good ones. And I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

Compared to the way your side acted, during the election, and the way it is acting now because you lost, the side in power right now, tending to the needs and security of the American people, are certainly the good guys. Your side is acting like a bunch of wild animals.

At least you've given up your argument about the massive landslide.

Funny..."the needs and security of the American people"...

You're a humorist...an untalented one, but a humorist nonetheless.

Clinton - hatred (reasonable and unreasonable) + lies on an unprecedented scale + voter suppression such as we haven't seen in 50+ years = a very narrow victory.

Arkady

President
Flip-flops, scams, lies, flim-flams...call them what you will. Trump duped his rabble in all ways imaginable, but they don't even seem to care.

Bizarre, no?

Of course they don't care. They don't support him because of POLICY. That's why they can be equally supportive when he's saying China is a currency manipulator and when he's saying it isn't; when he's attacking Yellen or when he's praising her; when he's calling for higher taxes on the rich, or when he's proposing massive tax cuts for him; when he's saying trans people should be able to use the bathrooms of their choice, or when he's again making it criminal for them to do so. The POLICY is beside the point. What they care about is whether he channels their hatred of liberals, black people, Hispanics, immigrants, Muslims and the others they love to oppose. It's pure tribalism, and as long as he is an able leader of his tribe's Two Minutes Hate, they'll support him.

Democrats do not engage in voter suppression, they engage in voter fraud.

I haven't given up anything. Trump's win was a massive win and an even greater mandate to erase the national nightmare created by Obama.

It simply was not a massive win. Not by any consideration. Not by the Electoral College and certainly not by the popular vote. To consider it so is a delusion that you cannot give up. You know the history, you know the numbers...and you state that you understand them. Then, you pen yet another post that belies such understanding.

Little legislation is being offered and the right is losing it's biggest mouth, O'Reilly, and the Chariman of the House Oversight Commitee will not run again.

You're unhinged, angry and spouting stupid crap. I'll simply believe it's because of the constant pain you suffer from your advanced age.

O'Reilly was way too soft on Obama to be our biggest mouth. Hannity is a far better supporter of American values. Rush Limbaugh is better than O'Reilly, anyway.
You would probably relieve a lot of stress on yourself if you would give up your illusion that Trump didn't win a massive victory and mandate. If he didn't win a great mandate, to erase every illegal act created by Obama, then why is no one stopping him from doing that very thing?

Your mental acuity is heading downhill, uh...exponentially. You seem unaware that the President has powers, so you ask a stupid question indicating that you have no idea what the President does.

Oddly enough, you also seem to stand in support of the same Congress that "allowed" Obama to get away with this so called "illegality" for 8 years...and no one stopped him. Not Ryan, not Chaffetz...no one. This is yet another post that shows how far down the drain you've flowed, how little reality means to you.

I know the numbers, therefore, I do not operate in an illusionary realm. The election was close. No, not a dead tie as a few have been...and no one made such a claim; just that the 2016 election was one of the narrower victories in re: the EC...and the absolute worst performance by a victorious candidate in the popular vote. Cling to the word massive if you must, but it merely indicates the level of delusion under which you exist.

Trump remains highly unpopular and spends government money on his personal life like no President previously. No matter, you'll support him...even if you too flip flop policy you once supported.
