Questions for Democrats

(1) Do you want to erase the existence of my Confederate ancestors from history?

(2) Do you want to burn me for my avatar?

(3) Edited to add: Am I welcome in the Democratic Party just as I am?

One PJCon is absolutely obsessed over those questions and jacking threads all over PJ about it.

You can be honest.

Republicans/Conservatives/Libertarians/
Independents are certainly welcome to comment too.

Allow me to assist you. Let's try these for starters
A bunch of half-truths. I think we should get rid of Confederate monuments if they misrepresent history and present an inaccurate revisionist narrative ... why don't you?
Conservatives like losers
You white bigots are the ones crying about the Confederate flag.....Fvckin burn that piece of shit I say
Will you people ever stop defending traitors. America destroyed the Confederacy that's why their flag only flew for 4 yrs. It is a foreign flag of the enemy. Have some respect for your nation. Burn that flag and then toss that junk in the garbage where it belongs.
Arkie comparing the battle flag to a jihad flag
How should we scour them from the Earth, specifically? Keep in mind that, at least in the US, it's perfectly legal --and Constitutionally protected, to pose in front of whatever flag you want. I can see the emotional appeal of rounding up the kind of people who'd pose in front of jihadi flags or confederate flags, etc., but it wouldn't be legal and it would be a dangerous slope to start down.
Try flying a Nazi flag in Germany.....see how that goes.

Remember that there were victims of the confederacy....and many today have ancestors of the time and they still feel the negative side of that...there feelings are as relevant as are those who wish to honor former confederate soldiers....But having know people who had the rebel flag on their cars or on the railings of an apartment balconies...these are not people who even know if they had relatives inthe confederate army....to them it is a symbol of rebellion....that is all.

Bugsy started a whole thread over the flag
Obviously it doesn't have the same status. Mexico is, today, a nation with which the US has friendly relations, including our most important trade ties. The Mexican flag you see dates back to 1968 in its current form, and for all that time we've been at peace with Mexico. It is a banner that is embraced by those wishing to show some kinship with the nation or people of Mexico. The Confederate flag, by comparison, is a banner that was adopted by some treasonous Americans who decided to tear their nation apart and murder some of the their countrymen because they didn't like the results of a presidential election that meant they wouldn't be able to expand slavery to new territories. It's a banner that is embraced exclusively by evil people.... apologists for treason and slavery.
you're not "keeping the black community down" by having a confederate flag.
you're just expressing a racist attitude by having a confederate flag.
This is typical conflation.

I will not speak for all...but the majority of folks who weighed in on the Confederate Flag issue were quite clear...the STATE has no business flying the flag on the Capitol...and then, Capitol grounds of South Carolina.

While the flag does hold some special negative connotations, individuals are free to recognize and display the flag on their property however they wish.

The confederate flag was only ever a flag of traitors. By comparison, the Mexican flag has been the flag of a nation with which we have cordial ties. See the difference?

I suppose. For me, the confederate flag means treason and ignominious defeat. For you it may instead mean white supremacy. But regardless of our individual takes on the symbol, as an historical fact its official capacity was only ever as a flag of an enemy of the United States. As such, it has more in common with the Nazi flag than the Mexican flag. The Nazi flag was adopted by a nation that soon was at war with us and was then abandoned upon their defeat. Today, like the confederate flag, it is only ever embraced by evil people dreaming of a return to that dark past.
It was and if it existed today it still would be. The US never made peace with the Confederacy. It's an enemy regime the United States of America completely destroyed like the Nazis.
The "American Patriot" flying an anti-American flag in his front yard.....I'm sooooo surprised.

The civil war is a very sad part of our history, slavery is a shameful part of our "traditions".....
Two people's comments on the article I read about his TWEETING makes more sense to me than all the rest. I only saw one guy who upheld him. Obviously a racist as well.
This says it all. And those here who praise him for whatever he says aren't any better than he is.

The most frightening and appalling thing about this is not that this man called Obama a baboon. What's truly scary is that this man has shot and killed an unarmed innocent teenager, threatened his girlfriend with a loaded shotgun, been involved in numerous road rage incidents involving a loaded gun and lent his image to a Confederate flag for a "Muslim free gun store" promotion, and he can walk into any gun shop and buy any gun, any ammunition anytime. This man will kill someone again. It's virtually inevitable. That's what's scary. The fact that he's a completely despicable racist is something we already knew.

Howard Parker - Zimmerman already said he "snapped out of his liberal stupor" on his twitter months ago. Feel free to share that with any of those "have it both ways" weirdos that pull the he's a Democrat nonsense. I have plenty of times. It shuts them up quick.

Your avatar is fine.

As a conservative, I don't seek to silence anyone. I do seek to stop violent protests. It 's not the protest that needs to be stopped, though, but the violence if it accompanies protest.

I doubt you'll find many Conservatives that object to his avatar. It's the group that he connects with I call into question

I was editing my post when you responded.
ok but it still doesn't call for me to change my response
You have one issue that liberal venomously oppose. I can accept that towards me but what about you are you prepared for the left to openly and physically attack you for what you believe?

Ok. Just letting you know.

I'll cross that bridge if I get there. Certainly wouldn't just roll over. As I said in the other thread, the only confrontation so far has been with keyboard warriors. But I'm certainly giving any fellow PJDems the chance to confront me here one-on-one. You may be right. None might take up the offer. We'll see.
