What is being discussed is the steps necessary to put them back to where they were...that is what we'd do for any state or city hit by a disaster. PR has a tougher road to hoe because it is an island. People can't just obtain resources by driving to a nearby city that is not as badly damaged. At the very least the corps of engineers should be on site helping restore electricity and water.

Look at the effort put forward to help the Japanese when they were hit by the earthquake and Tsunami. The US military put enormous manpower into helping them.

FBI agents in Puerto Rico have been receiving calls from "across the island" with residents complaining local officials are "withholding" or "mishandling" critical FEMA supplies -- with one island official even accused of stuffing his own car full of goods meant for the suffering populace.

The accusations come in the aftermath of deadly Hurricane Maria, which devastated the U.S. territory last month.

“The complaints we’re hearing is that mayors of local municipalities, or people associated with their offices, are giving their political supporters special treatment, goods they’re not giving to other people who need them,” FBI Special Agent Carlos Osorio told Fox News.

Osorio, an agent with the FBI in San Juan, said the bureau was investigating the allegations.

Obviously, Trump won the states of Texas and Florida while Puerto Rico votes only in the primaries(which "Little Marco" won)

It's not so much it has to do with Obama. It has to do with Puerto Rico being a failed welfare state with a plethora of problems before the hurricanes. Their irresponsible spending and debt, while leaving their infrastructure to rot, has exacerbated the damage from the hurricanes.

in 2015 (see link) Slate pointed out that half of the island lacked safe drinking water. Just like so many rust belt inner cities in America.

So now the lucky half the island has unsafe drinking water and the unlucky half WISHES they had it that good.

Why to go Trump ! You sure help at least half of PR turn lemons into something that almost resembles lemonade .
