Yet Another One......

Zam-Zam

Senator
.....comes forward:

A woman is accusing Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) of trying to forcibly kiss her in 2006.

The woman — who was a former Democratic congressional aide — said the Minnesota Democrat attempted to forcibly kiss her in 2006 following a taping of his radio show.

“He was between me and the door and he was coming at me to kiss me. It was very quick and I think my brain had to work really hard to be like ‘Wait, what is happening?’ But I knew whatever was happening was not right and I ducked,” the aide said in an interview with Politico.

If this were the '90's, Senator Franken could simply have James Carville declare "This is what yo get when you drag a hundred dollar bill through a trailer park", most liberals would enjoy a good laugh, the women who accused the Senator would be destroyed, and Franken would continue on his merry way.

Now, it's different.

Timing is everything.

I have this thing about grown men chasing jail bait, don't you? And now we have the entire Republican party supporting that pervert Roy Moore.

I'm not spotting the harassment here. The headline says he tried to forcibly kiss her, which makes it sound like he tried to hold her while he forced a kiss on her, or backed her into a corner, or threatened her, or something like that. But the actual story says that he moved towards her to kiss her following a taping and she ducked. That's it.

I'm not a very touchy-feely person, so I don't like it when most people kiss me. It's particularly common when I travel in Europe, Latin America, or the French part of Canada, where hugs and kisses are treated the way handshakes are in less affectionate societies . I generally "duck," which involves a moment of awkwardness. That doesn't come up much in the US, other than with immigrants and relatives. But unwanted hugs come up all the time, and I tend to duck those, too, whenever I can. But I've never seen myself as sexually harassed based on that attempt at unwanted touching. I get that they're just trying to be friendly. If someone tries to hug me and I step away, and they get the message, I'm fine with that.

I don't blame you - I'd probably try to change the topic too if I were you.....:>)
This is a test of your Republican family values.

Identify the most egregious act of sexual harassment:

1. forcing a kiss
2. grabbing pussy
3. chasing jail bait.

I'll bet #3 was on the bottom of your list, amirite?

I'm not defending anyone's behavior here. Are you?

You can rate these things however you like. And use inappropriate language as you like. I'm not taking the bait.....:>)

Once they get to know me, they do. But, yes, my touch aversion has alienated more than a few people upon meeting. Later, once they get to know and like me, they just see it as an amusing quirk.

You've just described pathological liar Trump's method of operation.
In #1 he's lying to spare his OWN feelings. He doesn't give a damn about others' feelings.

Your top post tells us that you think a complaint by a woman who actually was NOT kissed by Al Franken is more egregious than actual acts of sexual harassment, assault.

as much as I detest franken, his antics fall far short of those pioneered by Weinstein, spacey, and moore.

he tried to kiss someone? what guy hasn't? what does forcibly mean? pinned her arms to her sides? shackles?

same with the sleeping reporter pretend boob grab. it's juvenile and sexist, but he didn't actually harm her.

he's a sexist moron, but not a criminal

It says nothing of the sort, and you know it.

Try honesty, it will serve you better.

Interesting claim, given your previous admission that you've been counseled at work for inappropriate behavior. Sounds like you're just covering for your fellow predators.

I have never admitted anything of the sort. You just made that up because you enjoy lying.
So you lied when you said this, or you're lying now? Which is it?

I had something a little similar happen. Someone alleged that someone else said something offensive about a coworker at a work lunch (basically, through the rumor mill, I figured out that either I or one of my female colleagues were alleged to have accused another colleague of having slept her way to the top). I was called into multiple meetings with HR where nobody would tell me what I was accused of or who had accused me, but I had to recount everything said at that lunch again and again (as did the other person under the cloud of suspicion). Fortunately for me, there were a bunch of people at the table and apparently just about everyone's version of the story cleared me of the allegation of having said anything inappropriate. But it was a Kafkaesque ordeal where, to this day, I've never been officially informed of who made the accusation or even what, precisely, it was that I (or the other person investigated) was supposed to have said.
