when was first mentioned as a candidate, i had no idea who he was, so i listened to him talk, and thought "hey, this guy sounds pretty good, articulate, intelligent, young jr. senator who just might be the "no more of the same" hopeful i was looking for.
so i did my due diligence and started researching him.

it was like peeling an onion,,the more i looked the worse it got..from a lackluster political career [he was absent more than present] to his questionable affiliation with "acorn" and its business shakedown methods, to his affiliations with communist, racist 60s radical member of the domestic terror group "the weathermen" bill ayers, to his mentor and friend louis farrakhan racist leader of the nation of islam and black nationalist, his controversial pastor of a hate spewing church he attended for 20 years, i found nothing that i could admire nor support but thought surely a man with this history would never be considered as a legitimate candidate...his background would have been revealed and he would have quickly been dismissed..

but it didn't matter, none of it mattered, the ONLY thing that mattered was his skin color.
not even after his first mediocre term did anything matter, just his race.
he set black politicians back 50 years...got the left calling successful black politicians, surgeons, educators "uncle toms" if they dared disagree on his mandates,

he turned out to be just another race pimping bagman from chicago.
And the racism card was a strategy from before he ever announced he was running. There was never any reason for it. He began his campaign with a speech saying something to the effect: There going to tell you he's too young; there going to tell you he's inexperienced; there going to tell you this and that, and a couple of other things, I can't remember; and then, Oh, and by the way he's black.
No one on the other side had ever said anything about his being black. The Dems just began claiming any criticism of Obama's policies on anything was because of his skin color. It was a brilliant strategy, dishonest as hell but brilliant because the chickenshit Republicans were so terrified of being called racists that they didn't have the balls to fight back.
Obama was like Republican kryptonite. And he virtually got away with murder because nobody was willing to challenge him for fear of being labeled a racist. I hated the Democrats for being so dishonest but I hated the Republicans more for being cowards.

In the old south, it was said of a negro who had the audacity to believe that the constitution actually applied to him too.
ahhh, so the democrats started that..they started a lot of things here, slavery, civil war, jim crow, kkk, institutionalized racism/sexism/discrimination via affirmative action, cries for the return of segregation via blm, and cries for another civil war via antifa..

guess old habits are hard to break..:([/QUOTE]

Affirmative action was started by Nixon as part of the fight against segregation. BLM is part of the fight against segregation. Antifa have almost no connection with the Democratic Party and at any rate are more akin to John Brown and the Jayhawks than to the secessionist right.

The Democrats told black people that the Constitution applied to everyone but them. Then Republicans came and quashed that. It was a good thing, so Democrats claimed it and have always pushed that it was Republicans who were anti black freedom.

Democrats have no good ideas. Theirs are ALL bad. But they co-opt any good idea that anyone else has and claim it as theirs and put their own bad ideas off as the "fault" of someone else. There has never been such a dishonest bunch of people.
If any party can be said to have led the fight against Jim Crow, it was the Communist Party.

LOL!
shades of the "southern strategy theory" nonsense, huh?

the democrats have ALWAYS been the party of racism, discrimination, sexism etc. since before the civil war up to and including today...

Yet somehow the people marching with swastikas and Confederate flags tend to hate the Democrats.

The right treated Obama with far less respect than any other president since at least Lincoln.

He did nothing to help the black community. He did more to engender hatred and distrust between the races than anything else he did. And it's a damned shame too because, given his popularity and charisma, if the stupid bastard had been a decent man instead of the piece of shit he is, he could have been a great president and made life better for all Americans. He could have closed the racial divide and healed the wounds of prejudice and discrimination. But he took the low road and opted for race baiting and identity politics.
Obama will go down in history as a great missed opportunity. A great failure.
"He could have closed the racial divide and healed the wounds of prejudice and discrimination. But, he took the low road and opted for race baiting and identity politics". Those are the exact same words I could use to describe Donald Trump. He has been very divisive. I believe his Presidential campaign was designed to appeal to the alt-right, White nationalist wing of the Republican party. He was supported by David Duke, Richard Spencer, Jared Taylor---all proud racists.
This is my opinion.

If the only thing that mattered after the first term was his race, why did the American voters (or should I say the Electoral College) give him a second term?
He didn't set Black politicians back 50 years. That is just your own biased opinion.

because to the identity politics crowd [pc] his race was all that mattered..nothing deeper was required.
you are entitled to your own biased opinion, as is everyone..

He is also supported by mainstream Americans from all walks of life, black, white and brown from every state. He is not causing divisiveness, it is the people on the Left who cannot let go of the fact that Clinton lost the election.
When Obama won the presidency, the Right, myself included, didn't riot, burn cop cars and try to pump up reasons to impeach him. We fought our own party to nominate someone who could beat him but we ended up with Republican establishment morons (McCain and Romney). Trump is doing good things. Do you realize, or do you care, that Black and Hispanic unemployment is at the lowest they've ever been? This has turned around in a year since Obama was president. And yet your side keeps right on spewing the lies they hear on CNN.

Hispanic unemployment under Obama dropped 4.2 percentage points, or 42% ... under Trump it dropped 0.9 percentage points, or 15%.

Elizabeth Warren was on Meet the Press this past Sunday. Chuck Todd wanted her to say whether she was going to run in 2020 or not.
She would not give him a firm answer. I don't know much about her. I know Trump calls her "Pocahantas" and that she is a liberal Democrat.
What do you folks think?

I don't know about electability ... but in terms of policy there are many Democrats who are worse.

Sanders would be my first choice. Harris is definitely in with the Clinton-Pelosi DLC clique but her own positions are fairly progressive ... except when it comes to an unusually sharp (for a Democrat) anti-Muslim line.
I do apologize for this comment here and other places I made it ... I read some Islamophobic positions by a completely different politician ... Tulsi Gabbard ... and got her confused with Kamala Harris in my mind.
