Saw the interview last night.....Trump did not fare well. Comey appears honest and coherent....Two things that cannot be said about the Donald.

Comey is struggling with his explanation over why he inserted himself politically into the election days before the vote. I get the Guiliani-influenced wing of the NY FBI and his need to counter them, but there will be no good explanation why Comey went against DOJ/FBI policy to stay out of the political arena. However, overall, one cannot say that Comey is a dishonest man while Trump has etched on his forehead "I am a con man."

Comey has a super-healthy ego maybe because he's good-looking, smart and sooo tall, but it's a bit much that he's acting like he's the only one who can tell us what a scumbag Trump really is.

Trump is frantically trying to protect his fragile ego while Comey is trying to sell a book.

What Democrats think (or thought) of James Comey:

Both things can be correct.
1. Comey insinuating himself politically in the election right before the vote was wrong.
2. Trump firing Comey because of "the Russia thing" was wrong.

If Comey, as at least one Democrat claimed, has "no credibility", he cannot also have credibility. In that instance, it's one or the other I'm afraid.

What's really more likely is that people will call him a liar when he says what they don't want to hear and claim he's an honest Abe when they like what they hear. If that is the case, perhaps it is they who have the credibility issue......

I don't know if he's telling the truth or not in either instance. I sincerely doubt any other poster here does either, and are simply offering opinions on what they prefer to believe.

My two cents.

So now you agree with Pelosi? Did you think that I would change my mind because of what she has to say?
I didn't say I agreed or disagreed. I just pointed out what she and others have said in the past. What you make of that is your business.

Trump is attacking Comey on a fairly regular basis. I think Comey wrote the book to defend his own reputation.

I didn't know about the meetings in which Trump and Comey were the only ones in the room. When it comes down to which version of those meetings you believe...did Trump tell Sessions and Pence to leave the room? I believe he did. Why would the president do that? Did he then ask Comey for his "loyalty"? Absolutely. Was that appropriate? Not a chance.
Did Trump have in mind that he would tell Comey to halt the investigation info Flynn?
Yes. Did Trump care that he was obstructing justice.....nope.

Did Comey make a bad decision to say anything at all about the Clinton investigation? Probably. The FBI doesn't make decisions about prosecution...the attorneys on the case do.

What I make of it? Pelosi made a partisan attack on Comey, a republican, in an attempt to deflect his criticism of Clinton.

Yes, you did make it clear what you PREFER to believe. Nancy Pelosi is suddenly your mentor. Never thought it would happen. LOL

No one's accused Comey of lying.

The IG report implies he lied when it says he "lacked candor". Given Trump's propensity to demand loyalty above all and the termination of those he sees any actual disagreement from....I could see a career government employee wanting to do the boss's bidding.

"UPDATED: MAY 18 2017 09:12AM EDT

"WASHINGTON (AP) - The standoff between President Donald Trump and his former FBI director intensified with the news of James Comey's memo saying that Trump asked him to shut down the agency's investigation into ousted national security adviser Michael Flynn.

"A person who had seen the memo told The Associated Press what Comey had written.

"The person was not authorized to discuss the memo by name and spoke on condition of anonymity.

"The existence of the memo was first reported by The New York Times."

"The White House denied the account."

Comey wrote the memo one day after Flynn resigned. If an FBI agent's contemporaneous notes are widely held up in court as credible evidence of conversations, does the memo establish a conspiracy to obstruct justice on Trump's part?
