Walmart boss earns 1,200 times as much as the company’s median worker

And he doesn't even do anything. CEOs just attend BS "meetings" all the time.

may 13 2018 The salaries of CEOs have ballooned over the past 50 years, extending huge gaps with those of their employees. Today, so-called ‘fat cats’ can earn the annual salary of a typical worker by lunchtime.
In its latest filing, Walmart disclosed that company CEO Doug McMillon’s total compensation rose two percent in 2017 to $22.8 million. Meanwhile, the firm’s median employee earned $19,177 in the same period.

The largest chunk of McMillon’s compensation came in the form of stock awards. He has held the company’s top job since 2014.

The company’s spokesperson Randy Hargrove said that, in the past few years, Walmart has made important investments in its workers, including raising its minimum wage in the US to $11 an hour in February. The retailer says it has also put money into training and education programs for employees.

The released information showed that at Macy's, the CEO earned $11.1 million in the last fiscal year, which is 806 times the salary of a median employee. GAP’s chief executive made $15.6 million, or 2,900 times more than the median employee.

A business is a team, not a one-man show. Treated like office furniture, the employees get demoralized, but then get criticized for not putting much effort into their work.

What actual decisions does that CEO make each day? He will sit in a meeting bitch about profits, tell the staff to cut 10% out of their budget then get a bonus from the board for good stock holder dividends. Other than that he will go to a Trump style golf course and spend more in a day than an employee makes in a month.

Just like regular employees CEO's can and do get replaced if their employers(the board) think someone else get do a better job for less money. All you have to do is convince Walmart's shareholders that you could a better job for less money than current CEO, Doug McMillon .

Dammit you beat me to it. Maybe I instead should go with something like that's the typical answer for somebody who doesn't know how business works...

Plute Supremacy works for Low-IQ King Ape economic bullies. Why do you think the "education" the rulers impose on us turns us into wusses?
