This does always amaze me. People look at others who meticously plan, save and organize their life towards a goal as if they are the elusive unicorn.

Really, life is generally not that hard if you just have your shit together, make good choices and do what you have to do to prepare for the future. Tough to do that though when you think having the latest tech and a daily starbucks habit is "normal" life.

The ones that say they won't have kids, probably have a chance to save a million that's for sure. But a million doesn't last long if you don't have income at 56 years old which is the age they say they want to retire.

I don't know about all Boomers vs GenXers............ but I think I agree. My oldest son, a GenX kid is doing amazingly well. Two kids. Private schools. Frequent nice vacations to nice places........ Life has been easier for him than it was for me and I am tickled pink about it. Hubs and I did NOT pay his way. He did it himself.
