This sounds likes bad news for sure Trumpies.

Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s longtime confidant and former personal attorney, is likely to cooperate with federal investigators, as his lawyers are expected to leave the case, sources said.

To date, Cohen has been represented by Stephen Ryan and Todd Harrison of the Washington and New York firm, McDermott, Will & Emery LLP, but a source representing this matter has disclosed to ABC News that they are not expected to represent him going forward.

No replacement counsel has been identified as of this time.

Cohen, who is under federal investigation now with no legal representation, is likely to cooperate with federal prosecutors in Manhattan, sources said. This development, which is believed to be imminent, will likely hit the White House, family members, staffers and counsels hard.

Who wants to settle for emoluments when Treason is in season ?
You have pretty much nothing on emoluments...sorry...

This is a silly argument for a number of reasons.

First of all, global hotel chains such as the Ritz Carlton and the Four Seasons are not going to be hurt financially because some clientele might prefer to patronize a Trump-branded hotel.

Second, the idea that a billionaire with worldwide business interests is going to be unduly influenced because someone buys a cocktail in the Trump Hotel instead of at The Old Ebbitt Grill is inane.

Third, President Trump is making an annual lump

sum payment to the U.S. Treasury of all of his hotel’s profits from foreign-government officials who patronize the hotel, so he isn’t profiting from their spending.

Under Judge Messitte’s legal theory, the more than 10 percent of Americans who own their own businesses would be disqualified from being president unless they are prepared to sell any business they own before entering the Oval Office. That is not, and has never been, a precondition for serving as president. It is an unjustified and wrong interpretation of the Emoluments Clause.

Then I guess 10% of Americans shouldn't run for the office unless they are willing to divest themselves.

Problem solved.

But this Cohen thing is not solved and probably has nothing to do with that lawsuit.

The whole idea behind having citizen politicians is that it was considered like jury duty, you go in, serve your time, and then go back to your old life when it was done.

The framers never intended on serving your country as the end of your civilian endeavors, or that you had to give up everything you have accomplished. As usual, the left is just being their unreasonably insane selves.

No Cohen is going to be mainly about porn actress Stormy Daniels. It's the best hope Dems have for any evidence of Trump wrongdoing.

And you think Stormy Daniels activity is all they found when the cops raided his offices ? Or that, that had ANYTHING to do with raiding his offices ?

Talk about wishful thinking.

Absolutely true!

Being a citizen politician was NEVER intended to be a career. But as we know all to well .............power corrupts. And it's apparently quite intoxicating. It's devolved to the point where clearly most politicians think of themsleves as the American royalty class. The ruling class.

Hard for the self serving swamp leeches to relinquish that type of power and influence. Especially when they can use that power and influence to get re-elected indefinitely.

The Framers never imagined what their idea would grow into and how complicated it would become. Having new people who have to depend on staff for the knowledge on how to do their jobs is a recipe for creating a deep state where functionaries run the show while the neophytes in office are having to constantly play catch up on the myriad of issues they have to make decisions on.

Would you suggest replacing seasoned cops and firefighters with wet nosed rookies every 4 or 8 yrs ?

I bet on Clinton and Bush and lost $100 right here on this board. The winner sure let everyone know about it. I guess you missed that thread. It sure was fun.
