Meanwhile, the corn is about 10" high (first time with corn for me; is 10" the right height for this time of year?), jalapeno and bell peppers are coming along and setting fruit, okra is getting tall, peas are still producing (still! in this heat!), and tomatoes are setting fruit that is still green but will ripen in the next couple weeks. Beets and squash and onions are getting away. Kids are doing great, grandkids are enjoying the summer. Everyone came to the house last weekend to help me usher in another birthday. Life is good. Next week I'll be in No Carolina again and, as I've spent so much time there, I'll get to see friends I've made over the years (it's actually been some little time since I've been back). Then during the week I'll be on Bragg doing yet another test with "those guys." Life is good.
