"And as a Trump-era wave of rightwing street protest continues, it is not clear that American cities, or police forces, are willing or able to prevent the violence that accompanies them, some experts and activists say.

Patriot Prayer was founded by the rightwing Senate candidate Joey Gibson and its stated beliefs are not neo-Nazi or white supremacist. Like the Proud Boys group, with whom Patriot Prayer’s membership often overlaps, Gibson’s positions are best described as conservative Republican, or Trumpian."

"Gibson describes himself politically as a "moderate libertarian",[9][10] but his organization has been described in the media as "alt-right".[11][12] Gibson denies that his group is alt-right, and has disavowed white supremacists who frequently appear at his events.[13][14][15][16][17]

Gibson supports a pathway to citizenship for non-criminal illegal immigrants. He supports decriminalization of marijuana, and same-sex marriage.[18] Gibson advocates for establishment of term limits for the U.S. Congress, implementation of a national sales tax, and abolition of the Internal Revenue Service.[19] He opposes what he describes as undue influence of the pharmaceutical industry on healthcare in the United States.[14]

During a March 2018 campaign rally in Spokane Valley, Washington, Gibson expressed opposition to Antifa, a group that frequently protests at his events, and said regarding white nationalists, "I would say the same thing to them that I would say to any black nationalist or Mexican nationalists [sic] group, we have to drop the identity of politics and focus on what is on the inside."[20] He has said freedom of speech is a central element to his platform."

If only Gibson weren't calling for his followers to come to Portland ready for a fight you'd almost think he wasn't all that extreme.

Southern Poverty Law Center?? Really??

The Guardian?? Really??
"The paper's readership is generally on the mainstream left of British political opinion.[3][4] The newspaper's reputation as a platform for liberal and left-wing editorial has led to the use of the "Guardian reader" and "Guardianista" as often (but not always) pejorative epithets for those of left-leaning or politically correct tendencies.[5][6][7] "

In Portland, if you are at all conservative, you had better be "ready for a fight" if you plan on meeting as a group.

Odd that people who independently organize a legal protest are somehow "provocative" when conservatives but are so necessary and justified when liberal.

Conservatives are allowed to protest and march for causes too, and it should be condemned by everyone if anyone tries to shut them down through violence or massive intimidation.

Overall, it's the leftists that cannot handle Conservative expression. The totalitarian language coming from leftists today is creepy, and the playbook is mildly effective. However, it comes at a price. Most Americans don't like the radical left, even if the media continues to desperately try to convince them of it.

You liberals LOVE that, like snopes and politifact. Yall post that like revelations from the mount. Ad Homed if you do, Ad homed if you don't...
I was pointing out the fact that @Charcat dismissed the SPLC and the Guardian as sources...I could just as easily dismiss Wikipedia.

The fact is that you have to look at the individual article and see if it supports the facts with footnotes on sources.

The Antifa thugs are the instigators of the trouble but the individual city and or state government are responsible because they refuse to shut them down quickly, decisively and with appropriate punishment. I'd like to see some cracked skulls, broken bones and people taken to emergency rooms while screaming Police Brutality.

What is a non-criminal illegal alien? If they are here illegally that make them criminals.
Nancy Pelosi (in her senile stupor) has stated, and other Lefties have deemed that illegal immigrants that have not broken any laws can and should be here. Apparently she doesn't know what the word "illegal" means.

Her little Lefty Minions............. are too stupid to do anything but agree with her.
