Her answer was correct, unemployment checks stimulates the economy much more than no unemployment checks. Of course no unemployment checks stimulated the crime spree of the 1930's, folks will do what they have to, to eat.

Yes, indeedy! And people with a full time job stimulate the economy even more since unemployment checks constitute only a portion of your original income.

I also imagine that Obama had a quiet word with her after the fact to the effect that she really shouldn't take the socialist things he spouts off about when cliqueing with his inner circle of sympathetic advisers and repeat the crapola in a public forum. The press IS campaigning for him again, but still there are theoretical limits to how often they will turn a blind eye to the screw-ups of his ancillary people.

His presidency is a critical change event in the history of this nation. He is struggling to take us far down the road of socialism. The Right is struggling to prevent us from moving further down that wrong-headed path. But even if he succeeds in getting re-elected the Right should not only retain control of the House but perhaps gain control of the Senate as well. That means four years of perpetual stalemate and over-turnable decrees via executive orders.

That should be sufficient. Obama simply can't do what he so desperately wants to do, turn this nation into a sick parody of Greece.

THere are two choices....unemployment benefits or no unemployment benefits....one helps the economy, the other does not. Duh.

Did you ever say it about Bush? If not, you have a real problem with judgement. It was Bush who came up with policies that pushed the economy over the cliff.

I'm not overly impressed with any of the Pub candidates and with the exception of Romney feel the rest of them could be as problematic as the O in an opposite manner.

I agree that the Senate is the key and have stated as much several times. I don't think there's any way the Pubs can fail to take the Senate majority this year. How big a majority is the only remaining question.

As far as the O, there are still any number of things that could do him in regardless of who the Pub nominee is - escalating gas and food prices, rising unemployment as our economy "improves", continuing foreclosures and instability in the housing market, a USSC thumbs down on Ocare to list just a few.
