Word on the street is the Alt-Right wants to start infiltrating our meetings in an effort to recruit new members and/or sabotage us. Apparently something went down in Charlottesville that wasn’t good PR for them and they’re also angry we refused to “unite the right.” I’m being told they are going to pretend not to be Alt-Right so they can come to meet-ups and gather as much info as possible. They also plan to get caught doing terrible things while wearing our shirts in an effort to discredit us. It’s a strange strategy but they’re not known for being reasonable.

Please be very diligent about new members. If there is even a possibility they are Alt-Right, do not allow them at meet-ups. If you know of anyone who is presently a member and who is Alt-Right, they are cut from the club as of right now. If you refuse, you are your own separate entity and not affiliated with Proud Boys.

1. HOW DO I KNOW IF A MEMBER IS ALT-RIGHT?

The two big differences we have with them is the “JQ” and racial identity politics. They think the Jews are responsible for America’s problems and they think “Western” is inseparable from “white.” They don’t see a future for non-whites in America. [Unwelcome language removed] THAT. We reject all of those things. We openly encourage Jewish and non-white members and want them to know they’re at home with us. Black and Jewish conservatives have to put up with a lot of shit and the last thing we want is for them to feel uncomfortable when hanging out with their drinking buddies.

Other signs of the Alt-Right include an obsession with Hitler, saying socialism might work, seeing gays as degenerates and eschewing Christianity. These all pale in comparison to the two biggies. The second you see signs of JQ or white nationalism, show them the door. To be clear: All white nationalists / anti-Semites are banned from Proud Boys even if they never bring up said topics.

1. WHAT IF I SEE PROUD BOYS AT AN ALT-RIGHT RALLY?

You don’t. You either see someone who used to be a Proud Boy or someone who is dressed the same as us. If you see someone in a McDonald’s uniform smoking crack, Ray Kroc does not become Ray Crack. We are very obvious when we endorse something. You will see it on our websites. We will make sure we’re on the flyer. I will attend the event. We used to say it was all right to check out various events as long as you weren’t there as a Proud Boy. That is no longer the case. Proud Boys may not attend Alt-Right events in ANY capacity. Not even as a journalist.

1. SO WHAT EXACTLY ARE WE ABOUT?

It’s very simple. We are a men’s club that meets about once a month to drink beer. We have attended rallies where we felt our friends were in danger but that’s not what we’re about. We’re not political activists. FOAK (which isn’t Alt-Right either) is very active and political and they are affiliated with us in the sense that they have our backs in a riot. If you want to attend every single patriot rally, join FOAK. We don’t want to go to riots. We want to drink beer. We wish the Alt-Right AND the Alt-Left would go fight it out amongst themselves and leave us alone. As Henry Kissinger said when he was asked who would win the Iran / Iraq war, “Ugh, can’t they both lose?”

I’ve said this 1,000 times and I’ll say it 1,000 more: We are a fraternal organization like the Elk’s Lodge. 100% of us are Western chauvinists which simply means we all believe the West is the Best. 2nd Degrees and up have to quit porn. 3rd degrees have a tattoo. There are NO racial requirements to be in the Proud Boys. There are no special rules for black Proud Boys (this overrides anything previously published about black PBs) or any other non-white PBs. We don’t care what your sexual preference is and that includes guys dating trans. Politically, a good 98% of us love Trump but that is not a requirement. Our Pope, Dante Nero was a Hillary guy.

Women are not allowed at our meetings. If it’s at a bar, they can be there for the warm up and they come back after the meeting but the actual rituals have to be in an environment that is men only. There is no exception to this rule. If a woman is present when the readings are happening, that club is no longer affiliated with the Proud Boys.

Also, a final note about the violence: We are not a violent group. We don’t start fights but we will finish them. The violence you see in the media is us defending ourselves from lunatics who want us dead for no discernible reason. We do not advocate going to their rallies such as the May Day celebrations and messing with their free speech. We’ve already clarified the 4th degree. You don’t get rewarded for getting into a fight. You get a consolation prize. Don’t start no shit. Won’t be no shit.

Avoiding infiltrators isn’t easy. When people lie about who they are and what they believe, you can only guess if they’re telling the truth. All we can do is make it very clear what our organization is about and boot anyone out when they don’t belong. The Alt-Right and the Alt-Left need to focus on their own organizations and curb their obsession with ours. We just want to be left alone so we can drink our beer in peace. If you want a problem, disturb a man who just wants to be left alone so he can drink his beer in peace.

I am getting worried PBs are being led to believe we endorse senseless violence. I thought it would go without saying but we’re getting into dangerous situations these days and I’m getting concerned. Riding through Islamberg, for example, is incredibly risky. I’d hate for a brother to think he was doing the right thing by doing something foolish for some vain attempt at glory. I’m also starting to see PBs go to rallies when they are severely outnumbered. If this can be avoided, it should.

The 4th degree is for someone who has “endured a major conflict related to the cause.” In the past I’ve joked about “kicking the crap out of antifa” This obviously doesn’t mean you go to someone’s house or even pick a fight with one at a rally. If you do such a thing, that’s 100% on you and has nothing to do with the groups tenets. It’s about defending yourself. We don’t start fights, we finish them. 4th degree is a consolation prize for being thrust into a shitty situation and surviving.

Here are some good examples…

BROTHER SHAWN and BROTHER MICHAEL
On election night, some lunatic was whipping empty glasses at a Proud Boys’ Girl because she had a MAGA hat on. Shawn and Michael got in between them and pushed the perp away. They were arrested (along with the glass thrower) and spent the night in the tombs. When Trump was announced president, these two guys were behind bars (it’s quite possible this night is when the 4th degree was invented). Nobody picked a fight. Two men went to a woman’s aid and protected her. They then suffered.

BROTHER LEVI
At one of the Berkeley events, Levi stood on the BAMN side next to some big banner that had some some dumb slogans on it and recorded a video. He joked that he had crossed over to the dark side and disavowed the Proud Boys. As he said this, Yvette Felarca clawed at him. He didn’t touch her and continued riffing. Almost immediately, riot cops grabbed him and threw him to the ground where he was summarily arrested. He didn’t pick a fight. He made a joke and then suffered.

BROTHER JOVI
After four hours on the dance floor after a Milo party, Jovi’s MAGA hat fell off and some lady jumped on it and began grinding it into the floor. He had to move her out of the way to pick it up and when he got back up, her boyfriend bottled Jovi in the face and cut it open. He was also bottled in the back of the head. He fought back and won but he got his nose broken in the process. The assailants are being charged with felony assault. Jovi was just minding his own business and he suffered for it.

These are not brothers going out and looking for a fight. These are brothers defending themselves after getting fucked with. We don’t want anyone to die and we ARE AGAINST VIOLENCE. Based Stick Man has a slightly more aggressive stance on this but he too is against needless violence. The Alt Knights are warriors and so is he. We are willing to brawl if need be but it’s not really our top priority. We are a bunch of dumb drinking buddies, like Animal House. This is what there is an Alt Knight / Proud Boy distinction.

The media calls us violent because we dare to hit back after being attacked. The 4th degree is not about offense. It’s about defense. Please be careful out there brothers, this is supposed to be fun.
