Dems have hard time connecting to voters because they know so much: Hirono

Hirono, 71, said Democrats need to stop speaking in a way that comes off as manipulative or strokes fear and resentment.

“But we have a really hard time doing that and one of the reasons-- it was told to me at one of our retreats-- was that we Democrats know so much, that is true. And we have kind of have to tell everyone how smart we are and so we have a tendency to be very left brain," she continued.

______________

First, study shows they talk down to minorities because they think they are smarter....now they admit they think they are smarter.

Dumbasses, the lot of them.

The highest ranking Republican in the solar system is President Trump (R-NY).

"Nobody knows the system better than me." "Which is why I alone can fix it." presidential candidate Trump 16/07/21 from the campaign podium

Be that as it may, are you seriously trying to defend someone saying that an entire segment of our society are ALL smarter than everyone else in the country because they share political positions by pointing out that a single person who is a member of a segment said HE was smarter?

"..we Democrats know so much, that is true. And we have kind of have to tell everyone how smart we are.."

VS

"Nobody knows the system better than me." "Which is why I alone can fix it."

I am not sure how it is where you live, but I know that where I live, there are MANY democrats (and republicans as well but they were not included in this "we are smarter" boast), that I interact with daily who may very well not be smart enough to even come inside if it went to raining shit.
So, while one guy's boasting about himself can, and should be, laughed off, it is an entirely different thing to witness someone who honestly believes those of one particular political affiliation are actually smarter than everyone else.

In MY opinion, of course.

There is a group of people who are routinely impressed with how smart they think Democrats are.

That group is the Democrats.

It's more smug then smart, they have lost there traditional voting block of the white working class and I don't see them getting it back any time soon.

As someone much smarter then myself put it, the democrats now represent the uber progressive rich and the poor who they can continually manipulate.........

No middle ground.

"trump sure knows how to use and abuse the system any way that he can!" BC #5
So do I.
But I don't. THAT'S the difference! Trump has no ethic censor.
"I am not sure how it is where you live, but I know that where I live, there are MANY democrats (and republicans as well but they were not included in this "we are smarter" boast), that I interact with daily"
Rarely if ever do I find anyone that confesses to me in a moment of stark, lucid self-reflection: I'm completely wrong in my personal philosophy.

It's human nature to believe in ourselves; even if it means reversing philosphy or party.
Ronald Reagan, the Republican demigod, was originally a Democrat.
"So, while one guy's boasting about himself can, and should be, laughed off, it is an entirely different thing to witness someone who honestly believes those of one particular political affiliation are actually smarter than everyone else."
Republicans think they're not merely smarter, but philosophically and morally superior.
- party of family values (thus President Trump)
- "pro-life" (their euphemism for "anti-choice")
"Dems think they are smarter than everyone else"
It's called "bias confirmation".
It's uncommon to find the few smart enough to understand this common self-delusion.
"I know that I know nothing." Socrates

Thank goodness Republicans are perfect. Right?

Congratulations on winning a dying demographic. It ain't coming back either, white kids nowadays get college degrees, wear white collars, and vote democrat. No child aspires to be Donald Trump or any of his poor heroin-addled supporters.
They have sealed their fate, the Republican party dies off with the baby-boomers.

Some things are defined by context, doughnut holes being an obvious example.
I'll walk you through it.

a) The topic title is:
Dems think they are smarter than everyone else

"everyone else" includes Republicans.

b) The topic title is NOT a quotation of a Democrat declaring leadership position / opinion.
It's an obvious groundless partisan snipe at Dems

c) If were true we'd know somehow, whether by:
- quotation of a Democrat in leadership, or
- a valid statistical study of some sort, or
- some other valid indication.

But this topic's got SQUAT!
It's a conspicuously partisan insult without stated foundation in fact.

BUT !!

I fully understand that the profoundly self-deluded are immune to such objectivity.
Bias confirmation compels them (you) to believe:

Dems think they are smarter than everyone else

and you justify it by dismissing the challenge.

But you do not define reality. And reality doesn't need your validation.

You and the other partisans are welcome to continue to think of it in terms of on party being "smarter".

Reality is a little more complicated than that.
And just one sanity check on that is academe.
Republicans love to whine bitterly about the "liberal bias" in our colleges & universities.
But the tenured professors there aren't just high schoolers trying to make a little extra $jingle. They're quite often the tops in their field.
Do you really believe "liberals" are disproportionately represented in academe for their intellectual inferiority?

Sober up.

For awhile anyway, until they get slapped around by reality enough to figure out where they fucked up.

If by "they" you mean Republicans, we concur.

For you see, the smugness plainly evident in this topic is rather more Republican than Dem.

If the topic title is true QUOTE A DEM ASSERTING IT.

But you don't.
It's all just groundless insult. It's a lie.
