They are not silly when they are TRUE. I've been trying to buy an orchard ladder and any moron saying Mexicans are going to buy 30 foot ladders for $50 at and ACE in Mexico can bring me one. I'll pay them $100.
What MV lacks in common sense he makes up for with his amazing grasp of engineering and mathematics........
NO WAIT! He doesn't grasp them either!
Let's noodle this out.
You'd need between 19-20 2x4's to complete your ladder if you only made one foot wide rungs. Nevermind the fact that a one foot wide 50 foot tall ladder would NEVER stand on it's own let alone would it support the weight of a 5 year old child ......just ignore those glaring deficiencies for a minute.
You'd need to lay 6 1/4 standard 2×4's end to end to come up with one side of your new 50 foot ladder. Then you'd have to duplicate that for the other side of you new 50 foot ladder.
Here's the tricky part that none of our border breaking leftist engineers fail to take into account......how would you/could you fasten the 2x4's together that would form the rails or the main support for the ladder???
Gonna glue them together? How about screw them together? I don't think nails would be strong enough to work. What about welding them together? No you can't weld wood.
I know! Make brackets! Yeah that's the ticket! Maybe you could make extra long, extra thick, extra heavy duty steel brackets to join the 2x4's together. You'd just need to have those made in advance so you'd have them on hand to build your ladder after crossing the desert and arriving at the wall.
Then once your ladder is built you have to stand it up. I think this will be the biggest challenge. You now have a ladder will weigh a minimum of 450+ pounds. The weight if the lumber will be 350 pounds give or take a couple. Then you've got the weight of the steel brackets and screws. I think 100 pounds is a modest number but we'll go with that just for the sake of argument.
So now you have a 50 foot ladder that weighs just under 500 pounds and somehow you gotta stand it up without it breaking or buckling or cracking ........
An army of illegal aliens couldn't pull that off! It physically couldn't be done by men alone. I doubt a crane could raise that ladder. It would break in half before getting off the ground.
But this is what our leftist forum members and media tell us would happen if a wall were to be built.
P.S. Just an FYI.... The cost if the lumber alone exceeds $70
