Really? So...all those cops and teachers and prosecutors et al are what exactly? Not jobs? Uncreated jobs? Could you please explain how a job exists...if it hasn't been created.the government may provide jobs ; it has never created one

the government doesn't have any money. it can fill jobs. it can't create them.Really? So...all those cops and teachers and prosecutors et al are what exactly? Not jobs? Uncreated jobs? Could you please explain how a job exists...if it hasn't been created.
only an expanding economy funded with private capital can create jobs.
those jobs you note are of course necessary and a legitimate use of tax dollars. we the people understand that draining capital from the private sector to fund government programs like 'cops' makes it possible to have a lawful society. a reasonable trade off
So...government DOES create jobs. And much needed jobs for society. Thank you.the government doesn't have any money. it can fill jobs. it can't create them.

use whatever semantical masturbatory techniques you need to satisfy yourself. I wrote what I wroteSo...government DOES create jobs. And much needed jobs for society. Thank you.
Yes...and it was twisted logic wherein you stated they create jobs...except that they don't.use whatever semantical masturbatory techniques you need to satisfy yourself. I wrote what I wrote
It's silly. A government job is a job. It had to be created. It didn't exist previously, then it did. Add to that the ancillary jobs created to serve government. Do you live near a US Military Institution? Are there restaurants nearby? Tattoo Parlors? Grocery Stores? All ancillary services created in order to serve government employees.
I live in a state capitol. The legislature is only in session 3 months a year, but the entire town works years around. It's a weird retail circumstance...many make their money in those first 3 months of the year...not waiting until Christmas as so many do. Hotels are booked...printers are working overtime, restaurants are bustling...all because the Assembly is in session.
I know better.
Clinton's tax increases in 1993 were called the largest ever by the republicans. Income tax revenues went from $627b in 1993 to $1.2t in 2000 but it seems Reagans were larger.....Income tax revenues went from $347b in 1981 to $496b in 1988. How are your math skills? Does that look like double to you?.
Clinton cut the Capital Gains Tax, revenues went up, And Reagan reduced taxes much more than he increased them, from a top rate of 70% down to 28% and revenues doubled. George Herbert Walker Bush tax increases through us into recession and revenue declined,
The deficits under virtually every administration were caused by too much spending. The Democrats under Reagan spend a $1.40 for every increased dollar that came in through the tax cuts.
the government may provide jobs ; it has never created one

those private companies do indeed realize revenue, which must be netted against what it cost them, to have the government use their tax dollars to hire people to go spend their income back at the business.Add to that the ancillary jobs created to serve government. Do you live near a US Military Institution? Are there restaurants nearby? Tattoo Parlors? Grocery Stores? All ancillary services created in order to serve government employees.
"some of this recent debate has to do with the “broken window” idea considered by Bastiat a long time ago. The Keynesian argument (ok, Keynes came after Bastiat, but it’s modern Keynesians that are bringing up this broken window) is that if a shopkeeper’s window is broken, he has to spend money to replace it, which increases revenue for the window-fixer, who then has money to spend on something else, and it basically “trickles down” from there. Voila, stimulated economy! The Bastiat response is that this does not consider what is “unseen” – namely, what more efficient resources the shopkeeper might have spent his money on if he hadn’t had to fix his window. The Keynesians respond that while the shopkeeper may be losing short-term wealth he is shifting future consumption to present consumption which stimulates the economy now, and so on and so forth."
