Students LOVE Ocasio-Cortez's New Green Deal....until they learn what is in it.

So the bottom line is that there is nothing in the bill that says it will outlaw gas, oil or coal. There is nothing in the bill that would outlaw air travel. There is nothing in the bill that would pay people who are unwilling to work...and yet that is what the interviewer told people.

When am I going to see one of those "fact filled" posts of yours?
Your dodge is duly noted.

Your dodge is duly noted.
You somehow come up with the idea that people are going to be forced to give up their cars...which is not part of the legislation. You say people are going to be forced to give up air travel. Also not part of the legislation. Try being honest about what is in the legislation (as well as the fact that it is non-binding).

Can this....
'meeting 100% of the power demands in the United States through clean, renewable and zero-emission energy sources'
..occur without this...
'outlaw gas, oil or coal'?

You clearly have not read the proposal.

I suggest you go educate yourself for once.

I have. Please quote the passages in the legislation that actually support your allegation that oil, coal and gas will be outlawed.

Lie:

Per the World health Organization (Not a biased website)

Global average life expectancy increased by 5.5 years between 2000 and 2016, the fastest increase since the 1960s. Those gains reverse declines during the 1990s, when life expectancy fell in Africa because of the AIDS epidemic, and in Eastern Europe following the collapse of the Soviet Union. The 2000-2016 increase was greatest in the WHO African Region, where life expectancy increased by 10.3 years to 61.2 years, driven mainly by improvements in child survival, and expanded access to antiretrovirals for treatment of HIV.
Yes, it appears the U.S. bucked the global trend.

How long has Trump been President? Has it been 4 years already?
So somehow you want to run away from the claim that Trump has accomplished something that led to a new mine in Pa. and when confronted with the facts you want to argue that "well, it hasn't been four years yet"?

feel free to paste that quote.
the goals described in subparagraphs (A) through (E) of paragraph (1) (referred to in this resolution as the ‘‘Green New Deal goals’’) should be accomplished through a 10-year national mobili- zation (referred to in this resolution as the ‘‘Green New Deal mobilization’’) that will require the fol- lowing goals and projects— ...

... meeting 100 percent of the power de- mand in the United States through clean, re- newable, and zero-emission energy sources

How? Will Exxon voluntarily shut down?

Explain exactly how it would happen if not by force.
So now you want to discuss the economics of clean energy and not what Cortez's legislation says. Again, there is nothing in the bill that would outlaw gas, coal or oil.

And does not try to make oil, gas or coal illegal.

Did they?
Or is that just what you are claiming they did? Because you lie an awful lot, you know.
You can call me a liar all you like. You just can't show evidence of a lie in any of my posts...so you make shit up. Wouldn't that make you a liar?

Yes.
Do tell.

Explain to the class how you can have 100% of the power demands in the US be zero-emissions, and still use gas, oil and coal.

This spin should be interesting.....

I saw this yesterday.
It's [Unwelcome language removed] terrifying how many people in this country vote without bothering to find out the first thing about who or what they're voting for.
A Foster Government

That's to be expected in a republic. Electing is not voting; it is a forced choice between pre-owned candidates who will do all the voting on the issues. This takes away self-determination from us, the people. Don't blame the victims of this glorified fraud.

No, I want you to explain why Exxon would close up shop if they are not forced to.

GO!

If Climate Change people want to be taken seriously they need to stick to the environment. A perfect example of this, guaranteeing a living wage for those unable or unwilling to work has nothing to do with Climate.
Level Thy Neighbor

You don't realize that the Jolly Green Giant's ulterior motive is to kill jobs, lower wages, demoralize the working class, and raise the Cost of Living? That's why you don't see how handouts will be necessary if this agenda is forced on us by the GreedHeads' GreenHead classmates. The plutocratic guillotine-fodder are nothing but a tag team that needs to be toe-tagged.

Again...the allegation was that the bill would make oil, gas and coal illegal. Where does it say that? Can you admit that it was false?

If you want to talk about the economics of the Cortez bill, open up another thread.
