I made the news ! !!!

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Cringeworthy Reaction to Amazon’s HQ2 Pullout Proves How out of Touch She Really Is

Amazon had scrapped the spacious campus it had planned to build in Long Island City, Queens, which would have created roughly 25,000 well-paying jobs. The residual job creation was estimated to be an additional 67,000 jobs.

Jobs that could have created salaries of at least $115,000 jobs each.

We were subsidizing those jobs so for… the city was paying for those jobs. So frankly, if we were willing to give Amazon three…if we were willing to give away $3 billion for this deal, we could invest those $3 billion in our district ourselves if we wanted to.”

Now, with Amazon staying out of NYC, that $3B will never exist, nor will 25K directly created jobs with a starting salary of $115K, which, by the way, is $21K *higher* than the median income for a 3-person household in NYC

YEAH !!! ! VICTORY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now ask her how she'd feel if a government agency wanted to open a $3 billion campus and employ 25,000 people in LI. True intentions revealed...

1. She wasn't in favor of the plan.
2. She is against government subsidies for corporations.
3. She had nothing at all to do with the cancellation of the project.

Other than that...what is your point?

I'm against governments in competition with subsidies to get business to move to my state vs yours. How about yours? How well did the deal go to get that factory from China in Wisconsin? Seems that Foxconn isn't going to hire quite the number of workers they'd planned...so not 13,000 workers...maybe 1,000 or so...still getting $3 billion in subsidies?

last I read they were still committed to hiring the 13,000 and had already hired around a thousand to date. Can you share the reference that shows they will have stopped they're hiring at thousand

Where is your link to the 1,000 jobs created?

The company in 2018 created 178 direct, full-time jobs, Woo wrote in a letter to Mark Hogan, CEO of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., which helped craft the tax incentive deal.

Foxconn has promised jobs elsewhere that it failed to deliver on. In 2013, for example, Foxconn said it would invest $30 million to hire 500 workers for a new factory in central Pennsylvania, but the factory was never built.

Republicans seem to not like welfare it goes to feed unwed mothers.
But as long as it's $Billions going to one of the wealthiest men on Earth, suddenly giving $Billions in breaks to Bezos doesn't seem so bad to Republicans.

I don't speak for AOC.
But I suspect she'd leave it up to the local natives. If they want Amazon, they're welcome.
But not at the expense of $Billions to the tax payers.

What's the return on unwed mothers vs companies hiring 1000s of employees?
How many $Billions Obama gave GM have not been repaid?

"You are sorely misinformed." Cf #17
If that were true you could concisely quote one factual error, and correct it.

You didn't. Instead you posted: "You are sorely misinformed."
