You parents don't let you have a set of keys to the house?

You must be a mighty edited to need that many weapons when you leave home. Do you keep the Maglite in your front pocket to impress the ladies?

Sad, so sad.

But at least you leave the electrical tape at home.

I have to say anyone who carries that much junk has to be fearful of someone. Maybe if did not live in an all white neighborhood or 200 miles from humanity you might be able to just relax like I do and enjoy my great grand children.

Carries that much junk? Everything I carry gets used daily
What idiot doesn't carry a watch?
Knife? Pen and pad? Multi-Tool? Lighter? Flashlight?
The knife is used for cutting string cardboard
pen and pad is used for writing down information for jobs
Flashlight used for lowlight areas within the job
The lighter is for starting a torch
Multi-tool has many job-specific tools when I don't have the right tool on hand
Watch for telling when it's break time or lunch time or even time to leave the job.
Shesh son get a job

No Sheepdog I don't. I don't need one. I'm retired.
Well then your EDC is what you need for that day. I congratulate you on that. sheep
I guess you've never been in a building when the lights went out?
Needed to start a fire? Write down some information? Wanted to know what time it is?
Good for you

Actually I haven't worn a watch since my first job. I learned two things from my first boss, one - the company doesn't care about you like your family does and 2 wearing a watch only makes you a slave to time.

Surprisingly I have a lot of emergency stuff around the house including several easy to get to flashlights, a kerosene heater as well as several lighters, cell phone (that I occasionally take with me but forgot to list), backup charger and several battery powered camping lights. Couple that with my e-reader and I'm good if the power goes down for a while. There are notepads and pens in several places around the house for writing stuff down, including in the car. many clocks around the house, in the car, in the phone, in the e-reader. More trouble than they are worth when DST hits.

Thanks for that message. I enjoyed answering it because you have a very good point - that we should all be prepared for emergencies. I'll assume that you know how to change a tire. But have you checked the air pressure in your spare? Most folks forget about that.
