New Zealand white supremacist Muslim hater live streamed his massacre

Dylan Roof. The Charlottesville alt-right “very fine people.” Our very own fraudster-in-chief rising to power by promising to ban Muslims and, just yesterday, threatening non-complacent Americans with retribution from his supporters. Similar haters seeking power in Europe.

And now this - a white supremacist Muslim hater invokes his support for Trump’s white supremacy and massacres dozens of Muslims, live streaming his rampage for “posterity.”

We have not seen this type of toxic movement since a certain cretin rose to power in Germany in the 1930’s. And it’s happening throughout the world - the plague of right wing racism and xenophobia.

Horrifying stuff.

Gun control is an illusion. The world is awash in over a billion guns. We have over 300,000,000 in the US alone.

Australia does have very strict gun control. Hence, the right wing mass murderer went to New Zealand to commit his massacre.

Any comment on the topic?
If gun control is an illusion, why do you support it?

I don’t support the fiction of “gun control” as applied in the US. You want to talk about gun bans? Truly effective laws, as in Australia?
Ahhhhh...you want to ban guns.

I’ll add that to the list of things in our Cinstitution you hate.

As part of his rant, the livestreaming shooter called Donald Trump a “symbol of white identity and common purpose."

The suspect who was charged appeared to have published a document before the attack outlining his intentions and in which he espoused far right and anti-immigrant ideology.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison described the man as an "extremist, right-wing" terrorist.

  • A 28-year-old Australian who livestreamed himself attacking a mosque identified himself online before the rampage as Brenton Tarrant. Tarrant posted multiple photos of what appear to be machine gun magazines and a link to what is being described as a manifesto for his actions. New Zealand Police urged people not to share “extremely distressing footage” related to the incident.
  • Tarrant outlines his motivations: including to “create an atmosphere of fear” and to “incite violence” against Muslims while offering up autobiographical details. ---Digby
