Iran? not so fast...

MrMike

Sorry, but I’m not quite yet buying the narrative of Iran attacking tankers/pipeline that’s being pumped right now and the knee jerk motivation to move forces in response to it.

Maybe I’m a cautious old military guy, but something in this just doesn’t add up.

What?!?!???? Republicans wouldn't lie us into war. They'd never do that.

I think we just like to fight. And the military industrial complex likes to make money.

Yes - I agree 100% on the making on money for the establishment politcians - this is one area where the fear mongering is the greatest, the perceived threats from countries who still throw rocks all in the name of saving OIL INTERESTS

I would have thought with all the right wing cheering of domestic oil production Trump would stop spending billions in worthless wars, not to mention human life but yet OIL is the lifeblood of our govt. reps pocketbook.

I really doubt it is a Trump construct. I’d be more inclined to believe it’s the Saudis, another nation or our own government apparatus seeking to play us.

I agree, they said this morning that the chances of Trump READING the briefing were next to nothing and Bolton was spearheading this. There isn't a war he didn't like to say the least.

Bolton has always been too hawkish for my taste.

I think its a contingency plan at best for a worst case scenario. The Times article can't even confirm if the President has been briefed on the idea.

120k troops, would have to be a lot more to invade Iran. Nobody in their right mind wants anything to do with that.
