New rule: Congress has no authority to investigate presidential wrongdoing

Bugsy McGurk

Remember Watergate? Iran-Contra? Travelgate? Whitewater? BJgate? Fast and Furious? The IRS probe? The nine Benghazi investigations?

Remember all those congressional investigations of presidential wrongdoing?

Well, you must have been imagining things. Trump and his GOP enablers now argue that Congress does not have the authority to investigate presidential wrongdoing.

Yup, it’s official - the Trump/Barr/GOP position is that Trump is above the law, as Trump announces that he will not comply with any congressional subpoenas and will not cooperate with any such congressional investigations.

New rules!

Welcome to our new banana republic...

have those five or six Democratic Congress persons that have access to the unredacted Mueller report taking the time to read it in it's unredacted form yet?

That in and of itself could be considered investigating. At worst it may trigger additional investigating.

Why do you think they have not taken the opportunity to read it yet?

What does that have to do with congress's right to subpoena whatever the hell they want?

It doesn't have anything to do with the thread topic, just deflect and diversion, AS USUAL!

I can't wait for the spin on this one, Fox didn't even mention this this morning at the gym. Instead they featured a " only see it here, ground breaking, earth shattering " Hannity report on the deep state. Can't wait for the judge to weigh in on this also.

That might be an interesting thread topic, but what’s wrong with mine?

What proof do you have that they haven't read it?
