Lots of people are happy about the record gains in the market this week. Hopefully, we'll have a better jobs report next month.
Wall Street fatcats were gleeful over news that Trump was pressuring the Fed to lower interest rates - the very opposite of what is done when the economy is supposedly doing well. The fatcats don’t care much about the cruddy jobs numbers - they only care about whether Trump will stuff more money into their pockets.
We shall see. All we know is that the average jobs growth number over the last three months, when the “corrections” to the prior two months are applied, is 150,000. Considerably below the numbers Trump inherited from Obama.

A continuation of what was happening under Obama would be more reasonable to attribute to inertia from the Obama era, while a radical departure would be more reasonable to attribute to changes in policy, wouldn’t it? Realistically, though, the economy has boom and bust cycles, and the long boom that began under Obama, largely fueled by unsustainable borrowing, inflation, and war spending, was bound to collapse sooner or later. We’ll probably see a big and sustained market collapse before there are big layoffs though ... what we saw this quarter was just a hint of things to come and consistent with the boom continuing for a few more months or years.I recall just a month ago when the jobs numbers were excellent the board Dimwingers tried to give the credit to Barry Hussein..................now they blame Trump.
