LA Democrats blame suburbs for record highest homeless population

This is brazen stupidity and brass balls to the third power.

Border War: Los Angeles officials clash with burbs over homeless 'dumping'
This disparity has infuriated Los Angeles city councilmembers and led to claims that L.A.’s neighbors are not just shirking their responsibility in tackling the region’s homeless crisis, but are actively pushing the homeless into L.A.’s city limits

(Note: For some of the idiots here, the thread title is correct because Democrats ARE in charge of everything in CA.)

A few points:

1. How do you PUSH a homeless person anywhere? Let's see. We aren't renting this ten million dollar house to you for $100 a month. Maybe that's it. Are homeless actually industrious enough to relocate themselves from one area to another? Wonder why they hadn't thought to move to an area where the JOBS are and where rents aren't so high?

2. The problem is NOT going to be solved in California because the Democrats do not need to solve ANY problems there to get reelected. They have enough idiot illegal aliens to carry them to future terms.

3. For a state that is a PERFECT model for all things involving Democrat policies, we have the LARGEST income inequality numbers in the country. (Biggest gap between the haves and have nots) We have the HIGHEST concentration of HOMELESS in the country. Funny: These are items idiot Democrats always try to blame on Republicans.

4. And Los Angeles officials aren't upset about so many people being homeless. They are upset that the homeless are so close to town, so close to the nice neighborhoods where the rich Democrat donors live.

They are absolutely right. When suburbs have no homeless shelters and anti-panhandling laws, it is because when people become homeless there they expect them to move to the city and become someone else’s problem.

It actually may because they prefer no homeless there

Yes, of course, but their social system reliably causes homelessness anyway, they just don’t take responsibility for cleaning up their own mess. It’s not as if they are emulating E. Germany or Cuba and actually making certain that everyone has a home.

It is a market demand in the capitalist system that homelessness be systematically reproduced so that rents can be kept sufficiently high. This is done not only through high rent costs, but also through high prices of all consumer goods compared to wages and through systemic unemployment.

E. Germany (the German Democratic Republic) was the first modern country to eliminate homelessness. There was no homelessness in E. Germany for about 15 years, until capitalist norms began to be restored.
Ah. Not today

A few questions to that ridiculous answer:

1. Why should a suburb have a homeless shelter? Why should people pay almost millions of dollars per home just to keep their kids safe now have to worry about a building full of animals, criminals, druggies and child molesters?

2. Why can't this fcked up state have affordable housing for all and good high paying jobs so there wouldn't be any homeless? You liberals certainly had no problem blaming Reagan for homelessness all over the country. This is California, completely dominated by Democrats. Why not blame them for (a) worst homelessness problem in America and (b) the largest income gap in America? Why not hold those left wing [Unwelcome language removed] to the same standards you hold taxpayers. (Read, conservative Republicans.)

3. Who is to say that the homeless are all born in the suburbs and they just magically migrate to the city when they lose their homes? Is it possible that they became homeless in the city? If a bum is industrious enough to move his dead ass, wouldn't he move it to a place where he could find a job and a home? Or maybe these bums are headed to the city to suck on the handouts from the welfare sources, soup kitchens, etc. Certainly give the illegal aliens a lot of competition.

Actually, it is the the policies of the RICH DEMOCRAT POLITICIANS that created the homelessness problems. Not only are they NOT taking responsibility for what they created, they have zero incentive to fix it because they don't have to worry about getting reelected, not with all the illegal alien voters casting Democrat votes.

It’s not as if they are emulating E. Germany or Cuba and actually making certain that everyone has a home.

Excuse me, but East Germany didn't put up a wall to keep people out. That wall went up to keep people in, with such deplorable conditions. And Cuba's murderous regime could always find six feet of earth to bury the hundreds of thousands of citizens it murdered. Housing isn't a problem when you're in the business of exterminating large portions of the population.

Passing a law making it illegal to be homeless did NOT eliminate homelessness. And you can stick anyone in a shithole and claim they have a home. Again, that wall wasn't put up to keep people OUT.

1. Because they need to take responsibility for cleaning up the messes they create.
2. Because it operates on a capitalist system which is incompatible with those things. I am not a liberal. I do blame both big-business parties for their role in maintaining the capitalist system and thereby causing mass homelessness.
3. People become homeless in the cities and in the suburbs. That’s the nature of capitalism.

It is the policies of the rich ruling class and the twin big-business parties supporting them.

Yes, E. Germany had a lot of problems, mostly related to their Stalinist regime’s efforts to strike a balance between capitalism and socialism. But homelessness was not one of them.

Cuba does not exterminate people, that is a damnable LIE. Cuba has actually had fewer executions since 1960 than the U.S. has every year.

It is a market demand in the capitalist system that homelessness be systematically reproduced so that rents can be kept sufficiently high.

You're blaming the bums for the high rents? So, the unusually high demand for a limited supply of homes (economics 101) isn't why there are high rents? It's because of the homeless? How did these idiots do it? Did they all get together and go online and artificially bid up home prices?

This is done not only through high rent costs, but also through high prices of all consumer goods compared to wages and through systemic unemployment.

In California, high prices are the result of ridiculously high and unnecessary regulations and high taxes. Energy is high because of ridiculous regulations on power plants. Gasoline is high because of taxes. Pretty much ALL of California's high prices are due do DEMOCRAT PARTY policies.

1. Because they need to take responsibility for cleaning up the messes they create.
The suburbs didn't create the mess. The mess was created by the rich Democrats. They alone are responsible and they aren't going to change anything because they don't need to. They don't have to worry about reelection.

2. Because it operates on a capitalist system which is incompatible with those things. I am not a liberal. I do blame both big-business parties for their role in maintaining the capitalist system and thereby causing mass homelessnes
s.

The capitalist system is NOT to blame for California's economic woes. Most of their polices are SOCIALIST in nature. California is the most anti-capitalist state in the union.

3. People become homeless in the cities and in the suburbs. That’s the nature of capitalism.

Nope. That's the nature of liberalism and socialism. Capitalism creates the greatest economies and the highest standard of living on the planet. That's just a fact.

Why is there a limited supply of homes? Market economics.

What about taxes and regulations? Well, they are not distortions of the market so much as expressions of what the market wants. We pay one way or another, through taxes that are levied openly or through the socialized cost of an unregulated market.

Go take a basic literacy class if you think I was blaming the “bums.”

There is adequate supply for those who wish to pay
