Well, that is surprising. He found enough courage to stand up to Trump about something so obvious. hip-hip-hooray.....this is a gigantic act of courage for a republican....one small trivial admission of truth for a democrat...

Graham is one of relatively few Republicans willing to say openly that he believes “climate change is real.”

He was one of just three U.S. Senate Republicans in 2017 to uphold an Obama-era rule curbing methane emissions. He spent political capital to broker a compromise on sweeping climate change legislation in 2009 and 2010 that ultimately floundered.

Graham also comes from a state where many residents link increased intensity of hurricanes and flooding to shifting weather trends, fostering environmentalist streaks in its Republican elected officials: Former U.S. Rep. Bob Inglis now runs a group called “RepublicEn” that encourages Republicans to acknowledge climate change, ex-U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford received honors from national environmental groups as a member of Congress and Gov. Henry McMaster has helped lead the charge against oil and gas drilling off the South Carolina coast.

The issue gets short shrift and deserves to. It’s a topic not high on voters’ lists of priorities and it’s not like the Democrats have a reasonable plan to stop or reverse this “problem”.
The amount man has impacted normal climatic change and the amount it can be repaired or if such repair is even possible are all debatable issues that can be handled without an environmentalist agenda that puts millions out of work or impacts our economy negatively.
Graham is wrong on this, as are all the other “former” and “ex-“ Republicans who now seemingly all obtained climatologist degrees.

yeah, it won't be that hard to develop gills through evolution. only shortsighted silly trump voters believe we can not slow down to a crawl the rapid growth of climate change which all the actual federal agencies who have done studies have concluded is a very real, very close to becoming reality fact, a threat to the whole world's economy and well-being without harming our economy in any real way right now. here is one idea that will do the most good, the fastest...instead of giving huge tax cuts and subsidies to gigantically rich big oil and chemical companies to keep spewing out oil and chemicals for most energy usage, transfer it to green renewable sources, that will actually stimulate job growth and the economy, and will more quickly end the world's use of carbon energy for most of our needs. win/win.

Are you even aware that our “gigantically big and rich oil and chemical companies” are LEADING the technology towards green and renewable sources of energy? Of course you don’t.

The cost of the current warming outweighs the cost of the most radical environmentalist agenda proposed (by anyone with any influence) to limit how much worse it gets.

The Green New Deal will never become law. It costs far too much than rational environmental methods and would cost far too many jobs. There’s no guarantee that spending 100 billion taxpayer dollars will impact the temperature by any appreciable amount or put an end to destructive storms or rising sea levels leading to property damage.

Reducing net emissions to zero would limit temperature rise significantly since the rate of temperature rise varies linearly with greenhouse gas levels. The models that have been incredibly accurate and just keep getting more sophisticated strongly suggest that that would mean fewer and less destructive storms and a lower rate of sea level rise.

Annual costs of the present warming (before it gets worse): $18.4 billion

Of course climate change is real. Climate has been changing for 4.5 billion years and will continue to change.

Like I said........
Do you see the difference between “here’s the specific evidence supporting the scientific community’s consensus” and “here’s an article referring to a self-published amateur paper making wild claims, which they are unwilling to submit to peer review, that the consensus position is wrong”?

Nope. No difference.

Yes. And it has changed for physical reasons. Basic physics, unlike your cult, says that it does not change for no reason. Since the current rapid warming and many of its consequences were consequences of fossil fuel combustion predicted in advance based on fundamental principles of physics and chemistry, and since scientists have carefully investigated and ruled out many other proposed physical mechanisms (such as a hotter sun, a change in the Earth’s orbit or eccentricity, continental movement, volcanic activity., bolide impacts, and the other known or suspected causes of past climate changes), they have concluded that it is very likely that the current change is largely due to the amplification of the greenhouse effect, a well-established physical phenomenon that modern industrial activity greatly affects.
