Can someone tell me the *cons* of universal health care?

I know there's a lot of participants out there who are against universal health care; can you please explain your reasons why?
Many consider that our US system is absolutely f@cked up.
I know normally you would be criticized to oblivion for this, but perhaps we can all agree to make this thread a free-answer zone?
Tell everything you have to say.

For universal health care to be "good" it would have to be orchestrated such that every person pays for the insurance package of his/her choice and you do not have 30% of the people paying for the 70% who are not working either because they are retired or because they have chosen not to be employed.

At this point we don't have that. Obamacare was structured so that the young and middle-aged workers pay for not only themselves but for the insurance of people that have chosen not to work.

Retired people have put enough into the system that their "entitlement" has been earned. That money should be there although it has already been given away to those choosing not to work.

Putting all healthcare payments on the backs of a low percentage of the people to pay for the rest is what makes universal healthcare untenable.

The entire concept of insurance is that those who do not use the insurance pay for those that do.
When I buy life insurance the insurance company is betting I don't die tomorrow. If I should die tomorrow who is supposed to pay the benefit?

(hint: those policy holders that have not died)

Its paid for by the working people of America not the Government.

Obama said it would be the young healthy newbies that would pay for it. That didn't happen as we all knew going in.

When medical costs come down then I am all for universal health care and I will help pay for it.

That's not the entire idea behind insurance. Another concept of insurance is that the provider doesn't have to take on an obvious high risk. I'm not saying I'm against universal access to health care but the way we've done it is just plain stupid and still isn't universal.

That's no different that here in under our current system. It took me 2 months to get an appointment with my GP and I have insurance through my employer.

Moochers With the Munchies

People too lazy to work and pay for their own healthcare compound their freeloading by a self-indulgent lifestyle that causes more sickness than what a disciplined and energetic person gets.

You need a new GP.

You're not entirely off here but there are a lot of people who aren't working not because of laziness but through no fault of their own and a lot of working people who still can't afford medical insurance (often plus a spouse's & their children's).

More proof that Liberals are agents of the Right Wing they were born in. In order to make government help look bad, they purposely include those communities who will naturally abuse it.

Letting these spoiled and vicious brats take over the formerly Democratic Party was the fault of slavish inactivists who were easily suckered into the delusion of "rich kids on our side." In addition, they should have gotten benefits from unionizing rather than letting themselves become dependent on a naturally hostile and elitist Constitutional republic for them.

Government sucks at reducing the cost of anything. In the US, it's not about health care. It's about government accumulating more power. That's why it wouldn't work here. Furthermore, we have recent health care to observe- Obamacare. It was a failure. Premiums went up instead of down. Virtually every promise was broken. As so often occurs with big government liberal programs, only the unproductive losers made out with Obamacare. And now the very people who supported and voted for it are campaigning on yet even more big government liberal health care reform. Why on Earth would I support these losers now after they've already screwed us on the same issue?

Simple, the USA is currently 22 trillion in debt, much of that owned by china. Universal health care as touted by the demodopes will give free healthcare to every living human on planet earth who wants to illegally come here to get legal healthcare. This system will destroy the USA as it exist now and it is unknown what will be left to fix

The concept of those not using insurance paying can never raise even 1 percent of the funds needed.

So while it sounds good you can not add
