Dem gov of MN gives housing to 150 illegals. 18,000 Mainers waiting for section 8

So creating a "separate system" that addresses their housing issue immediately ISN'T "preferential treatment???" That is absurd!
The separate system wasn't created for them. It was pre existing because their are different situations, different kinds of need.

If you are worried about the 18,000 on the section 8 waiting list the obvious solution is to raise taxes and invest in affordable housing.

150 asylum seekers won't effect that process one way or another.

Immoral to scapegoat them and pit one group of unfortunate people against another instead of addressing the actual problem.

If that's the solution, why is your state of Cali #1 in homeless that shit on sidewalks you need an app for?

You sound like people without kids telling parents how they should raise their kids.

I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe you should drive.
They get that number from government estimates that are largely based on the differences between the number employed and the number with SSNs or TINs.
Here's an idea - how about we get the data from the census by asking respondents to give their citizenship status?

So are you suggesting there are no citizens who need short term emergency housing? Are there zero homeless in Maine???

Nope. Not what i am suggesting at all.

Review. Focus on comprehension.
That's what we call a "dodge." The simple fact is that there is almost no scenario under which there are no Americans who are in the same shape as these "migrants." So why were they given preference? Here's why:

Face it - catering to immigrants (legal, illegal, whatever) is the Democrats highest priority (as a distraction from their policy agenda's abject failure).

Lol.

Pathetic nonsense.

You aren't interested in fixing the homeless problem, you just want to hate asylum seekers.

If you cared about homelessness in Maine you would be talking about raising taxes and investing in affordable housing for the 18,000 i stead of bitching about 150 people in a temporary situation whose fate won't effect 18,000 on the list one way or another.

You are transparent.

Because expert census people say that doing so would result in a massive undercount not only of illegal immigrants but also of legal immigrants and US citizens ...... Because most illegals live in mixed households with both legal immigrants and citizens.

And that's a "double dodge." Can you envision any scenario under which there are no American citizens who could benefit from this type of "emergency" shelter? It's a simple yes or no question.

Yes, because "raising taxes" has already solved all of our other problems, so only this one is left...

What are you talking about......we have been cutting taxes for decades not raising them. Americans pay way less in taxes than they did in the 50's and sixties and seventies for example.

So how do the 18,000 on the list get housing?
