"Global Warming is Undermined by New Discoveries"
'This new discovery may dramatically change those dire global warming forecasts that are now a religion. The findings were published in the prestigious journal Science, whereby the previous eco-science assumed the only source of nitrogen was the atmosphere. Scientists recently discovered that the planet holds vast storehouses of nitrogen, which is essential for plant life, in its bedrock. This new discovery alters the entire theory behind Global Warming caused by humans. The University of California at Davis environmental scientist and co-author of the study, Ben Houlton, said,
“This runs counter the centuries-long paradigm that has laid the foundation for the environmental sciences.” ... Climate scientists have long known that plants offset some of the effects of climate change by absorbing and storing CO2. But climate scientists assumed that the ability for plants to perform this function was limited because the availability of nitrogen in the atmosphere was limited. ... Ronald Amundson, a soil biogeochemist at the University of California at Berkeley, publicly told Chemical and Engineering News that “If there is more nitrogen there than expected, then the constraints on plant growth in a high-CO2 world may not be as great as we think.” ... That means the dire forecasts ... are completely inaccurate. The planet won’t warm as much with plant life absorbing the CO2 mankind pumps into the atmosphere."

"Nitrogen (N) availability controls many aspects of ecosystem structure and function on land and in the sea. This includes strong, N-driven effects on Earth’s climate system and the size and sustainability of the terrestrial carbon (C) sink."

"Lastly, the availability of N singly and in combination with P(hosphorus) profoundly limits terrestrial C storage, with nontrivial effects on global climate change. Our previous work demonstrated a doubling of ecosystem C storage among temperate conifer forests residing on N-rich bedrock. Our model indicates that rock N inputs could make up >29% of total N inputs to boreal forests, which could help to explain the high C uptake capacity observed for this biome and partially mitigate the mismatch of C and N budgets in Earth system models. Historically, weathering has been viewed as responsive to CO2 enrichment and climate change over deep geological time (millions of years). The direct connections that we draw between tectonic uplift, N inputs, and weathering reactions therefore emphasize a role for rock-derived nutrients in affecting the 21st-century C cycle and climate system."

We are all going to die!!!

Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Scientists have discovered ancient deposits in the Artà Cave on the island of Mallorca that suggest sea levels 3.5 to 4 million years ago were more than 50 feet higher than they are today.

The data suggests sea levels rose as high as 50 feet above present day sea levels.

Previous studies have found evidence that Earth's average temperature was between 2 and 3 degrees Celsius warmer than today's climate during the middle of the Pliocene -- called the mid-Piacenzian Warm Period, which persisted from 3.2 to 3 million years ago.

Which doesn't refute man made climate change.

Which doesn't refute man made climate change.
So? The climate is changing, and some of it is caused by human actions. Point is that the climate has changed since before the Stone Age, and it will keep on changing no matter what we humans do or don’t do.

Retrofitting every [Unwelcome language removed] building in America, killing millions of trees, birds, and mammals in order to erect millions of windmills that need fossil fuels to be built in the first place, requiring thousands of acres to be mined for the necessary minerals for these ugly giant bird killers, and millions of acres of otherwise fertile earth to be stripped that will be necessary for the solar panels that may or may not (depending on the weather) provide this country with the power it needs to survive...

Completely crazy. Find a better way... cleaner fuel, more energy efficient construction, better extraction methods... whatever. But the democrats current ‘plan’ would destroy the world and kill millions of people, as well as animals.

Voting for any of these nuts is suicidal.

Dems plan is to strip the earth of trees in order to erect windmills and solar panels.

Who needs trees when you can have metal?

I do not accept your defeatism.

You aren't looking at the costs of not doing a green new deal... Which is a world completely uninhabitable to my grandkids. Which I find to be completely unacceptable.

First of all there’s NO “defeatism” whatsoever in anything I said. I said FIND A BETTER way.. because YOUR way sucks.

Secondly, stripping the earth of flora and fauna will render it completely uninhabitable, which is something I find completely unacceptable.

Unchecked global warming means mass extinctions of flora and fauna. There are problems with solar (too carbon-intensive, too land-intensive, relies on the sun) and wind (too expensive, relies on the wind, kills birds), but either is a better option than fossil fuels. There is no problem with conservation except from the point of view of the energy monopolies. And we already have a better option for energy generation: nuclear.

At 4-5 degrees warming, most of the world becomes uninhabitable. At 6 degrees warming, nowhere is inhabitable without technological assistance (breathing apparatus, anti-acid rain suit, etc.).
Even if it came to that, which is something not rooted in reality...

Even IF that happened... so what? So we all die.

Big deal.

Lol. It will keep on doing what it’s gonna do, no matter what.

We humans will adapt. Challenge accepted.

No defeatism there.
Scientists understand how and why it is rapidly changing today in a way that it was not, say, 100 years ago. It is the essence of superstition to pretend the climate is some unknowable question mark while ignoring every effort to clarify primitive humanity’s confusion.

The cost of adaptation to unchecked global warming will far exceed the cost of simple mitigation now.

None of your leftist kook contenders approve of nuclear.

So there’s that.

Once again, proof right-wing politics is a death cult.
I’ve never killed anyone, I have no desire to kill anyone, but if humanity gets wiped out by a giant asteroid, another ice age, another heatwave, pestilence, drug abuse, or lefty stupidity.... so what? It’s the suffering before death that’s more of a concern to me.

You think humanity has to be ‘saved’ at all costs ? Why? Because it’s so great?

Believing in something greater than this life on earth is truly awesome. It’s liberating.

Wild-eyed, mass-butchering, baby-pulpifying leftyfilth calling ANYONE ELSE a death cult is clear sign of syphalytic derangement.

I see no rational, believable link. In fact, I see NO link. You?
No, but it’s a dumb, anti-science statement (as usual). The earth has been even warmer than that before.

So many lies...all day every day...from dozens of shut-in lunatics...
