Andy McCarthy makes a great point re: impeachment inquiry...

I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe you should drive.
The Constitution puts THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES in charge of impeachment, not merely the Speaker and a few of her closest hench persons. That clearly suggests that without a vote to proceed, this "kangaroo impeachment" is unconstitutional.

And to add to the kangaroo court atmosphere, they're holding secret hearings and using anonymous witnesses.

These people are totalitarian thugs, emboldened by 8 years of Obama's reign of terror.

Precisely! The cloak has come off and what is evident is that these lefties are repressive, war loving fascists bent on destroying whatever is left of America's free market capitalism.

Trump hasn’t been impeached. The Constitution says the House can set its own rules on how it does things like gather evidence, which is what they are doing now.

Which is it, are they repressive, war loving fascists, or are they bent on destroying capitalism?

Rule changes are voted on at the beginning of each session, by the entire House.

Nazi Pelosi doesn't get to change the rules on her own. She isn't a full blown Hitler......yet.

Correct. Lefty is now all in on suppressing due process (and countless other foundational cornerstones of the great Western and American legal system), scrapping all manner of individual human rights, secret backroom operations, contrived recruitment (and wholesale invention) of charges and witnesses (not just of the hated Trump...but Kavanaugh and any non-lefties), and subversion of America period.

Today’s iteration of leftists/Democrats makes the old Soviet politburo look like a bunch of pikers.

if one could read, one could see the Constitution does not give any advice or direction upon how the House impeaches or prepares to impeach. So it is stupid beyond belief to say whatever the House does towards that end is unconstitutional. that is why andy mccarthy, whoever the hell he is, is a total dumbass.

here is what the constitution says, exactly and completely, about impeachment of the president and the House of Representatives.

Article 1, Section 2

Representatives and direct taxes shall be apportioned among the several states which may be included within this union, according to their respective numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole number of free persons, including those bound to service for a term of years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons. The actual Enumeration shall be made within three years after the first meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent term of ten years, in such manner as they shall by law direct. The number of Representatives shall not exceed one for every thirty thousand, but each state shall have at least one Representative; and until such enumeration shall be made, the state of New Hampshire shall be entitled to chuse three, Massachusetts eight, Rhode Island and Providence Plantations one, Connecticut five, New York six, New Jersey four, Pennsylvania eight, Delaware one, Maryland six, Virginia ten, North Carolina five, South Carolina five, and Georgia three.

When vacancies happen in the Representation from any state, the executive authority thereof shall issue writs of election to fill such vacancies.

The House of Representatives shall choose their speaker and other officers; and shall have the sole power of impeachment.

Pogue Mahone

Legalize it.
Since it's not a formal inquiry they don't have to follow any formal rules. The flip side of that ought to be that their subpoenas aren't formal either, and therefore have no legal teeth, but we'll see how that plays out. They seem to be trying to have their cake and eat it too and I don't know that there's really any way to stop them from doing so. It's lawless, it's corrupt, it's the thing of banana republics, but here we are.

If you could read, you wouldn't suggest something so stupid.

Where does it say the Speaker and a few committee heads have the sole power of impeachment.

Yes, it's a political assassination is what it is. It is designed to destroy Trump's presidency through nothing more than unsubstantiated accusations of undefined offense(s).

That doesn't matter:

How Congress Sets the Rules for Impeachment

Both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate have the right to make their own rules governing their procedure, and to change those rules. Under current rules, the actual impeachment inquiry begins in the Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives. That Committee holds hearings, takes evidence, and hears testimony of witnesses concerning matters relevant to the inquiry. Typically, as occurred in the case of President Nixon, there will also be a Minority Counsel who serves the interest of the party not controlling Congress.

Witnesses are interrogated by the Committee Counsel, the Minority Counsel, and each of the members of the House Judiciary Committee. The Committee formulates Articles of Impeachment which could contain multiple counts. The Committee votes on the Articles of Impeachment and the results of the vote are reported to the House as a whole. The matter is then referred to the whole House which debates the matter and votes on the Articles of Impeachment, which may or may not be changed. If the Articles of Impeachment are approved, the matter is sent to the Senate for trial.

They aren't following the "current rules" and haven't changed the rules. And the reason for that is that they have nothing actionable under the Constitution, so they are pretending to impeach him using innuendo, and hoping the American people are too stupid to notice (which they apparently are).

Democratic lawmakers are harshly criticizing House Republicans for altering committee rules governing how chairmen can subpoena witnesses and documents.

Based off Republican rule changes hunh?!!?

Nothing in your link shows the constitution outlining impeachment inquiries.

That doesn't matter:...
This is false on its face, the speaker of the house is a position for reason.

...

How Congress Sets the Rules for Impeachment...
Those are rules that republicans changed, broke disregarded when it came to USSC seats, judges and house subpoena rules.

Republicans don't give a good damn about rules of congress seeing they've broke over half of them under Red Don.
