This is purely opinion...i just grabbed a close enough link.. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/12/opinion/polarization-politics-democrats-republicans.html

I caught a snippet on the radio today....from what i gathered I was catching the tail end of a dialogue that basically can be summarized thusly:

How can a presidential candidate, or any candidate for an office for that matter, heal the divides in this country, when all we speak, see, hear, view in media, etc... drives an ever widening polarity.

We are fed, incessantly...hate. We are mired in distrust. Our children are taught from the poles of a position.

How?

There are too many people (especially the Media) who want and actually thrive on the divide. I don't expect it will ever end.

From the link:

Polarization, however, is not just about disliking the other side. True polarization is when you dislike the other party and really like your own party.

This sums it up nicely.

What is needed is a President with the mindset of Eisenhower. Tribalism is the norm for our country. Someone has to get into the WH and call out their own party when the caterwauling occurs. The needs of the country have to be put above partisanship. Until someone wants to rise above it and risk being anathema to their own side, nothing will change.

The polarization is a symptom of the ruling capitalists’ despair ... none of the capitalist factions can solve the deep crisis of American capitalism ... therefore they lash out at each other in their scramble to find scapegoats and to plunder the corpse of the capitalist system ... the only solution is a viable social system (socialism).

Yeah, if you ignore the wars, the starving masses, the corruption, the bigotry, the erosion of constitutional government, the global warming, the deforestation, and the pollution of air and water, everything’s going great.

If Mayor Pete weren't an admitted open gay man, he would be leading the polls. He calls out the dems and repubs and the establishment but won't make it because he is gay. Warren is a stretch in many men's eyes but least you forget over 1/2 the vote is women and as bad as Hillary was she did win the popular vote. Warren backs off some of the crazier ideas, picks a minority as her running mate like Booker and she is golden. She will get women, Bernie's voters and most of Biden's so there is about 55% of the electorate easily.

I think Mayor Pete isn't going to win because he is short, not because he is gay.

Control what you can control.

And what each one of us can control is our own attitudes and actions.

My two cents.

Me earning money from myself (which I do) won’t stop the ruling billionaires from plunging the world into a future of war, depression, and fascism.
yikes. no.

do note... Socialism is well known to have plunged large parts of the world into a relity of war, depression, fascism....and death.

see: USSR. China, Venezuela, etc...

also note socialism gives everybody over the age of 65 in this country healthcare and a universial basic income.
