I should add that the drug cartels should be declared a clear and present danger to the United States of America. The President has offered assistance combating the cartels in Mexico but I don't think they'll take it as the corruption runs deep there. How's about invading?

I'd like that. Mexico has a lot of natural resources and a lot of good people. Perhaps we could initiate an Idiot Exchange Program and banish a Democrat family (the idiots) to Mexico in exchange for a Mexican family. It would be a win/win situation.

What we need is a Soviet Union of North America uniting the U.S. and Mexico in a voluntary federation based on socialism and preferential political power for historically oppressed Mexico.

The cartels may be a cruel and violent criminal organization but so is the Mexican government. They're in a struggle for dominance and the cartels appear to be winning, primarily because they have more support, willing and unwilling, from the populace.
Not my circus, not my monkeys..... I say we stay the hell out of that fight and deal with whoever walks out of the gunsmoke.

You know why some people are pushing the "open borders" concept?
Because they want us, especially our young, to think of themselves as "citizens of the world", which is basically "citizens of nowhere". Same reason they start at a young age filling their heads with all the evil shit done in the US since it's founding, they want to discourage national pride and patriotism, because it gets in the way of their long term goals.
A person who doesn't feel like a proud American just won't fight very hard to protect that nation, or it's borders.

I'm planning a solo motorcycle trip down there, want to ride my Harley down and check out some of the sights.
