Warren calls for making work schedules more predictable for part-time employees

So now schedules should be published two weeks in advance and if the schedule changes the business pays the employee a penalty for the change. Of course, she'll have a plan to compensate businesses when employees call in sick or don't show...out of the employees pocket, maybe?
Businesses do take advantage of employees through scheduling.

Yep, to keep our doors open. Employees take advantage of businesses by lying about being sick or their grandmother died (again)....

Just had an employee call in sick and then show up to claim his free meal, even though he didn't show for his shift. WTF!

It's irrelevant, because you didn't build that.

So OK, Boomer.

If a business is doing something from preventing a employee from earning wages elsewhere, then that business owes them compensation.

1. No, I paid someone else to...although I did some of the work as did my son.
2. Obama was talking about the roads, airports, bridges...all the infrastructure needed to do business...and no, I didn't build that, nor did I pay for them to be built. While I would have contributed a small part, my share of taxes....So did everyone else.

Yeah. There's all manner of taking advantage. FMLA, call outs, etc. Not easy.

Did you withhold the freebie

Could you give me an example? If we are changing the schedule it is because someone called in sick and we need to cover the shift.

I didn't find out until I saw the security cameras and the "sick" employee sitting down to his free meal. He rang up his own meal, then credited the meal. Only managers can ring up a freebee. The employee will be fired.
