So, what should we do about health care reform?

No it doesn't. Your wishing it did doesn't make it so.

And there is no blockade, there is an embargo. What goods Cuba would buy from the US are widely available in the rest of the world. Cuba can go to China and buy.
Cuba bears the U.S. by the most common numerical metrics for health care. Life expectancy, for instance.

Any company, anywhere in the world, that does any business with Cuba is subject to forfeiture of assets for all U.S. subsidiaries, and all its employees are subject to prison terms in the U.S., under the Helms-Burton Act. Not to mention the constant risk of terrorist attacks on merchants shipping goods to Cuba. Any country that trades with Cuba nevertheless charges huge premiums to cover the additional risk.

And they have been happy with their compensation. They've been buying homes, cars, snow mobiles, boats, fishing rods, season tickets, smart phones, TVs, computers, ... It is after all a $20T economy driven by consumerism.

WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!!
Yup, class struggle and colonialism have given most Americans a standard of living above bare subsistence. While it lasts.

So why doesn't government commercialize that research? Is it because the research isn't really as you say it is or is it because they can't mobilize a viable business model for lack of expertise?
No, it’s because they are operating on a capitalist model where the job ofgovernment is to be the handmaiden of private capitalist interest.

That's a lie.

"Cuba has one of the highest life expectancy rates in the region, with the average citizen living to 78.05 years old (in comparison to the United States' 78.62 years) "

Personally I care far more about quality of life then life expectancy. Quality of life requires freedom.

So since Cuba is so f'ing fantastic, why do you live here?

Jeez, so Trump lied again?

;-)
Of course he did. What is wrong with you? You're the one who can't think anything other than what CNN tells you. I didn't even vote for Trump. He's a politician. You're the one who can't see that politicians lie

That’s right. He lied. He always lies. And yet you blindly support him every step of the way.

Deplorable!

Wikipedia cites the CIA World Facebook, a U.S. government publication, and gives 2009 statistics. The World Bank puts it today at 79.74 (Cuba) to 78.69 (the U.S.).

If you like it here, why did you vote for someone who promised to radically shake up society?

When did Trump say he was going to "radically shake up society?" Link?

I agree with that. But it's beyond that. Insurance should be for catistrophic losses, not daily bills. Obamacare forces payment for routine care, which should not be covered. Then with deductibles and premiums, no one can any medical care who didn't already have it through their work.

Government treats medical care exactly like if our car insurance paid for oil changes but then charged you five thousand or more dollars if you were in an accident
Agree in part, especially the exorbitant charge part. There is no pressure to change the status quo. If people were savvier (sp?) and took control such that demand were directed at cost effective providers...price would consequently, or could consequently be forced lower. Too many are dumber than bricks..and they're taken advantage of

So says a self-reporting communist dictatorship.

Tough luck for confiscating private property. But actually the whole world especially China are free to trade with Cuba. They only get sanctions if they are doing business on confiscated private property. The rest of your characterization is just off base unless you've just forgotten to get the wikipedia article back on the communist loving track?
