Bernie isn't serious.

President
Here is how you know he's not.

The revolution he's talking is impossible without taking this giant leap to implement as large a change as he is presenting.

The reason he won't commit is because he knows how big a risk this change would be and he knows there is no turning back once it's done.

He's the front runner and he has the largest campaign machine in the field... with far and away the most donors... I'd call that pretty serious.

I do not see attempting to create a first rate single payer, not for profit health care system which is equally accessible to ALL Americans as risky. Those who are fear mongering regarding this idea are either a part of or have been thoroughly propagandized by the billions spent over the years by lobbyists for the HMO and Pharmaceutical industries.

We have created the best military in the world by far using socialistic policies which works despite the corruption involved in the process. We certainly could create the best state run medical care system if Americans had the will to do so.

Cutting out greedy HMO executives, their bean counters, paper pushers, death panels and dealing with pharmaceutical companies from a position of strength instead of letting them write our legislation would cut our overall medical costs to a fraction of what they are today and increase access to and quality of our healthcare.

Look at the countries which are rated as having the best quality health care on the planet and create an effective system here which will match theirs and eventually surpass them by using American ingenuity. Regarding healthcare, Sanders is definitely on the right track.

When will the people get serious and get up and out after they vote? Ain't no messiah coming to save lazy focks unwilling to risk anything personally.

Health insurance used to be nonprofit.

The United States spends almost 20 percent of its gross domestic product on health care, and if we want to reduce that, Rosenthal argues, we’re all going to have to be more like Jeffrey Kivi. Rosenthal, editor-in-chief of Kaiser Health News, itemizes the ills that have befallen health care, including opaque and inequitable pricing, perverse financial incentives and an ethos of putting profits before patients. She then writes a prescription for reform, including short-term strategies to reduce costs and long-term policy goals.
In this excerpt, Rosenthal explains how the transformation of the United States’ health care economy began: with the creation of insurance companies and their evolution into for-profit entities.

The very idea of health insurance is in some ways the original sin that catalyzed the evolution of today’s medical-industrial complex.
The people who founded the Blue Cross Association in Texas nearly a century ago had no idea how their innovation would spin out of control. They intended it to help the sick. And, in the beginning, it did.

What is risky is getting rid of the filibuster. But unless he is willing to do that he's not serious about getting his agenda through congress.

I think you mean the members of congress who know this is the right thing to do. They are the ones who need to vote for this stuff. And they are the ones unwilling to take the personal risk.

DNC-funded Bernie hate delivered! Well done, @Spamature!

You people are absolutely terrified of Bernie. He's going to get the nomination, unless Bloomberg can pay off enough people to stop it from happening. Will he be able to do it?

I don't hate Sanders, nor do I fear him. I am just saying he needs to support lopping off the head of your Mr. Magoo eyed turtle Moscow Mitch in order to do it.
