A question for Trump supporters...

“Did nothing” is precisely the lie I’m talking about. By Feb 9 the White House task force met with governors to discuss their needs for a possible outbreak. By the 24th of the month the White House asked the Congress for over 2 billion dollars to obtain the needs the governors requested. By this time the Fed has already determined a vaccine needed to be developed and started quarantine and containment efforts as well as developing a new and effective test for mass distribution.
All this occurred in February. Far from nothing.
Appears they missed Jan. 26th

Do you wish that Trump jumped all over the coronavirus invasion right at the outset, as did countries like South Korea, or do you think he did the right thing by denying its seriousness for weeks and claiming it was under control?
He took it very seriously quite early on, enough to ban travel from China back in January. Remember, you and your fellow death cultists said it was "racist" and "xenophobic"? Nancy Pelosi told people to run down to their nearest Chinatown and "mingle" with people. Remember?

Liberals are funny. They think that painting phony rosy scenarios and serious talk can solve a worldwide health epidemic. Meanwhile the president’s prudent actions and capable dedicated staff have moderated the impact and their actions are ignored simply because the left says Trump is a buffoon.
With Obama it’s 10,000+ dead but because their impression of him is a million times higher he must have (again!) performed flawlessly.
You people are truly demented.
Lying about what libs actually say is just about your last gambit. You refuse to accept the undeniable reality - Trump wasted months after the virus first threatened us, and we now have a catastrophe.

In case you’re truly flummoxed as to what a competent national response looks like, read about what South Korea did. In all possible respects it was the opposite of what Trump did.

He did not “ban” travel from China. He imposed a Swiss-cheese like restriction.

Other than that, he provided two months of lying and buffoonery.

You like the results?

You’re saying Trump’s optimistic words hurt or killed people and you’re pissing all over the performance of all the people breaking their ass to help people.
You can’t have it both ways.
Trump loves that dishonest gambit too - pretend that criticism of Trump’s lying and buffoonery is actually a criticism of those great citizens who are scrambling to address the consequences of Trump’s lying and buffoonery.

So deplorable.

He did. Or don't you know the timeline ?

President Trump did stop flights from China on January 31.
Italy put restrictions on flights from China the same day.
And North Korea was in some lockdown with its borders closed to everyone.
Those were the only countries that had early restrictions on China.

The United States and Italy were the first countries in the world basically saying we see this as a threat early.

EVEN WHEN THE UN TIED W.H.O. (WORLD HEATH ORG) Said Jan 15th that this could not be transmitted Human to Human. AFTER people were dying in China.

Meanwhile - from January 1 through February 25, there were four Democratic debates.
In the first three debates,
there was not one question from the moderators about the virus - and not one comment from any of the candidates raising the virus as a threat.

It was only in that last debate – at the end of February – that Bernie Sanders finally said something about the Coronavirus. He took the opportunity to bash Trump.

So we have the top Democrats vying for the highest office in the nation, debating on a national stage in front of the American people over and over again, while the threat of the virus grows.
And nobody says a word.

Where were the Democrats for almost two months on the virus?

And now the American people are supposed to believe that President Trump didn’t take action when it was obvious he should have?

The facts are that President Trump did take early action and no other world leaders and no Democrats said a word.

Those canards have been thoroughly addressed above.

Got any new canards?

I'm healthy, as is my family, so yes, I like the results. If your fellow death-cultists had been in charge (no travel bans, "mingling" in Chinatowns, open borders), we'd have millions of corpses to deal with right now.

In early February the state department helped facilitate the shipment of 18 tons of emergency medical supplies to Wuhan. Are you really saying that they didn't know there was a serious disease there?
They obviously knew there was a serious disease there if they allegedly did what you're saying.

However, are you saying that anytime there is a serious disease anywhere on planet earth, America has to shut down all "non-essential" businesses and quarantine themselves?

There appears to be a LOT of options between that drastic of action.

If China had not lied, we probably would have been better prepared.

How many campaign events did he go to in February? How about golf trips?

January 20th, first confirmed case in the US.
January 22nd, Trump says "we have a plan"
January 24th, China is working very hard. It will all work out.
January 29th, "Just got a briefing from all our great agencies" They are on top of it 24/7
January 30th, "We think we have it under control" We have very little problem here, only 5 cases.
January 31st, 8 cases confirmed in the US. Trump bars some travel from China. Us declares "Public Health Emergency".
Feb 7, 11 confirmed cases. Xi is very much in control.
Feb 23rd, 51 confirmed cases. Trump says situation very much in control.
Feb 26th, "And again, when you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that's a pretty good job we've done," There were actually 56 confirmed cases that day.

Absurd. That’s not refuting anything. The problem is handled by experts in the field. I’m not going to be blaming Trump for golfing and not sitting at his lab desk doing immunology with a microscope.
You’re being childish and unrealistic.

Why not? Trump certainly blamed Obama for the Ebola crisis.

How about Swine Flu, don't think anyone died in America due to Ebola, did they? 17,000+ died from swine flu and almost 10,000 of covid-19 (supposedly) appears now if you stump your toe it's due to covid-19 and autopsies not complete.
