Sure he is. Because Murdoch got a huge taxpayer slice in setting up Fox... courtesy of a special rider Newt Gingrinch put in a bill in 1996 that amounted to about $10 mil.

I see that as an argument for ending that loophole, not for funding NPR/PBS.

I don't believe that they should receive our tax dollars. Regardless of their political leanings, I don't believe tax dollars should pay for any television or radio except public service announcements.

Should the federal govt continue to fund this program? No, but the 170 million that Julie claims say they should ought to contribute 100 bucks each and then PBS can actually claim to be viewer and listener supported and with the 17 billion it would create then can not only be all liberal all the time but never have to worry about Republicans being in office cutting their funding. They can go on as long as they want being a mouth piece for their particlular bad at math form of govt all they want. Then they could also use the leftovers and give it to planned parenthood.

Fox 'News' is a criminal enterprise. It's license shouldn't be removed.

What crimes have they committed?
Its parent company has admitted to bribing policemen, hacking phones and trying to cover it up with lies. Thanks to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, News Corp. can be held responsible for it's corrupt oversea practices in our courts.

Once the British authorities are done with their investigation, I imagine they'll be glad to share the findings with the FBI. If you have any stock in News Corp., Jack, I'd consider selling it tomorrow. That's good advice.

PBS viewers and NPR listeners are generally better informed than those who rely on other sources. That is good reason to keep PBS/NPR afloat, maybe even give them more money.

True, but there may not be cause and effect here. People who listen to them are already more objective, rational thinkers than partisans who watch MSNBC or Fox. I consider myself one those people (yes I know that sounds egotistical:)

I disagree; the people who listen to NPR typically lean left and therefore are locked into a mindset that is bigoted, weaker than and inferior to those who embrace a more common sense and pragmatic view. People who watch Fox News get a more balanced presentation of world and national events and are therefore more informed and more likely to make intelligent decisions.

Liberals tend to be very informed on the Party produced talking points and generally come across to the fact-based community as lemming or robots, mindless creatures with no real direction or opinions thay can truly call their own.

If u think Fox News is balanced, there's not much I can say, other than I profoundly disagree. What anchor @ Fox is fair and balanced, may I ask?

No. NPR and PBS deserve public funding no more than Fox News deserves to be publicly funded.
REally? Fox is a shill for a political perspecitve. NPR is a neutral reporter... Fox does not run stories that are harmful to their advertisers. NPR has no advertisers.
People who listen to Fox as their primary news source are provabley LESS WELL INFORMED THAN AVERAGE
People who listen to NPR as their primary news source are demonstrably BETTER INFORMED THAN AVERAGE

But then again you seem to believe that "passionately and strongly held beliefs" are more important than independently verifiable facts... No surprise really....

No it's not.
Look it up. Look up who sponsored the extension of the sale of minority owned media business tax exemption. And got a multi million dollar book deal within 6 mos from the primary beneficieary of that tax extension
