Suppose a serial killer/rapist/torturer wanted to make a bet with you?

Most rapists get off. I am not sure of anything, but there had to be a lot of proof to convict him. Yes, I am more concerned about the millions of rape victims whose rapists go on to rape again. What evidence did they have against him? You don't seem to answer that

It is very hard for a woman to prove rape and that is why so many rapists get off but when someone is convicted and gets a ten year sentence , I know it isn't just her word against his. I am very familiar with rape laws and played a role in modifying them with millions of other men and women, Years ago all a man had to do was bring a friend to say she was a slut. .. Abortion and rape are two separate issues. I don't think a woman has to bear a child against her will for any reason, whether it be rape or whether she just isn't ready for a child.

My sentiment exactly. and I am very glad we agree. These days there are so many technological proofs that a rapist might not get by. If his DNA has ever been entered into the data base, it is getting harder and harder for bad people to get by with bad things.

Yes that is a hazard for women, but sometimes a man is accused of a rape he did not commit, and that is a hazard for men, especially if the man in question has several sexual partners. I had a friend who came to my house one day, and told me that he had been charged with raping his step daughter, and wanted to know what I would do. I told him if he was not guilty, I would rather rot in hell than enter a plea to something I did not do. Two weeks later he was at my house, and had entered a plea of no contest to the charge. I think that conclusion was pretty much self explanatory. Needless to say I have seen very little of him since.

Y ou want to argue about the rare cases of men being falsely accused of rape, I rather focus in the millions of women who have been ignored when they were raped. I know there are children who lie about child abuse, but I would rather focus on the children who are abuses. We learn about people by the side of the argument they choose,

There are always people who will lie to get people in trouble....all crimes. But of course I could count on you to defend men and call women vindictive....do you think the one In Four women who are victims of assault are just vindictive? I didn't use to have ANY concessions when it comes to abortion. I still don't like that a woman can have an abortion for any reason, even rape/incest. But I also have come to believe that there are exceptions, especially if it's a very young girl.

You have made some great points, and you will get no argument from me. But we were talking about rape. If I accused you of a crime falsely, and was willing to lie about it, anyone could end up behind bars, and had never done anything to deserve it. And that is the point.

That is rarely true in the case of rape. Most rapists get off bečause of inconclusive evidence. As I said I used to accompany rape victims to court and for it to get to trial, there has to be more than she said, he said and in most cases he walks. I have seen women abused again by the court system....it is assumed she is lying....not him! That is why women don't report rape, men report it even less.

Renee, there is no man on this planet that will defend women any more than I will. But you are getting defensive about stuff that you brought up from left field. And either sex can and will lie. I have often said that I know people who will lie when the truth wouldn't hurt. Again both sexes are capable of lying. I quit law enforcement because I could not get justice for a rape victim. So if you think I don't know how women are mistreated, then I don't know what I can say to convince you that I am on your side.
