I noticed the original post looked like it was in a special category, so I'll post mine here.

When I was in San Diego, getting ready to ship out, we were in a special set of barracks off base. Up the hill was a bar, and we used to go up there at night, to watch one particular show. Nearly every night, and I do not remember for the life of me the name (let's face it, that was 50 years ago), they had many of the Motown talent on this program. Now many won't consider this 'soft rock' but it's not heavy metal anyway. Here's the Temptin' Temptations.

I remember going down to West Grand Blvd. and seeing many of them. Actually saw impromptu concerts right out on the street.

You'll always be missed, David.

Saw these guys in Seattle, an incredible show. Saw the Doors in Omaha, now that was real strange.
Best entertainer I ever saw was an Indian kid in South Dakota that died in a car wreck at 16. He would have been bigger than Buddy Holly.

There have been some views, so if those people enjoy Motown they might enjoy the videos below.

I can remember how store clerks looked if you brought a Motown album up to the cash register. So often they acted as if they were afraid to touch it, as if the black would rub off it. But inspite of that, Motown touched so many young people, black and white.

So here is a video history of Motown.

If you enjoy these you can continue on your own.

It took awhile for Motown to evolve and become part of what was 'goin' on'. But it finally did with such sounds as Marvin Gaye, April 2, 1939 - April 1, 1984. RIP.
