Right away...second post in.... the loving tolerant left comes up with this idea! That people wish the President should hug a person infected with ebola. I guess that's what they would wish on someone they don't like. Talk about hate boiling in your gut.
You're calling someone else dodge boy? He's talking about the "ebola czar" Obama appointed and you know he's not qualified but you can't admit it because...well...love and loyalty and all that. So you're looking to flip the subject onto the surgeon general issue.
Okay, fine. And let's say a deadly virus comes to our shores and starts showing up in the hospitals. Are you going to trust the not a doctor head of the hospital to assess the situation regarding prevention and treatment? Or will you be depending on the DOCTORS for that?
What can an ebola czar who has no qualifying medical training have to offer to this situation? We need to ban the flights. That's something the president can order. We also need to see that folks in quarantine stay in quarantine for the full 3 weeks. You don't need a czar to do that.
When Obama said ebola wouldn't reach us, and then a case showed up, lots of people didn't blame him But do you realize that in a month's time we've gone from "ebola won't come here" to appointing an ebola czar? And the guy's not even medical?
So Obama has hugged a healthy woman. Good for him. What does it mean? Everyday people struggle with cancer, AIDS, and other deadly diseases. Everyday people overcome seemingly insurmountable odds and get to stay on the planet. But you don't see him photo opping with them. What is the significance of this picture?

I don't think either of us know exactly what the role of the "czar" is. My guess is more of a coordinator between agencies. He chairs teleconferences, hears what the heads of those groups need and takes the requests and goes to the president or what ever other agency needs to be involved. He is not the guy who makes decisions on treatments.

Qualified for what? You don't know what his job entails. It is certainly not the practice of medicine.

Five tests is way beyond the norm, he stressed, but his team did extra testing because the NIH is a research hospital. He had walked out to the news conference with his arm around Pham and later gave her a big hug.
"She is cured of Ebola, let's get that clear," Fauci said.
I tend not to pay attention to GiGi anymore since she lavished Sarah Palin with praise. Anyone who thinks that IDIOT is a smart person (yes, she actually said smart) can't be that bright herself.
What amazes me is that as well as they have been doing, keeping it out of the US, with just a handful contacting it, they get NO credit. None at all. It's all the negative so they can have just another reason to bitch about something else Obama should have waved his magic wand and correct or cure.

For all the largely political hysteria surrounding Ebola, we should all recall that NO Americans treated for Ebola in the US have died. A zero mortality rate given the excellent medical care we can provide here. Duncan was treated like trash and he died, but not one American.
Those not interested in using Ebola as a political football should just chill.
Well maybe you missed the post where dear Missy Mike said, when the thread was about ISIS and beheadings that the Obamas AND THEIR GIRLS should vacation over there. Of course you would deny his disgusting meaning. It's pretty damn obvious from reading the posts here in PJ that I said that and had plenty of reason to think it. When a person is talking about the Ferguson mess and asks what would you do if a 300 lb "GORILLA" was coming at you, and claims afterward she wasn't talking about the black 300 lb kid in question, did you step in and chastise her for her obvious racism and HATE??? Of course not. I stand by what I said...there are people here in PJ who have displayed enough hate toward Obama that they'd relish the thought of him dying...otherwise why would they desire to see him and his family go to a place where Americans could and would be beheaded. He didn't create that mess over there...Bush did when he declared shock and awe.

Funny about the Fox/GOP hating on the CDC....It seems the CDC actually has little or no actual authority, whatsoever! All the CDC can do, is make recommendations to the states. I think there's a misunderstanding around all this "protocol" stuff. I think some believe that the President can issue orders to the CDC and from there, the CDC can issue orders to the various states and hospitals.
