I think it's a great idea.... it would probably be one of the most used ratings, if added. Is there some way we could add a THANKS button to the ratings? There's many times I'd like to tell someone Thanks for their post, and I'm sure others have too. Is anyone else interested in this?
At one time,I thought we had a Thanks button when most of us moved here from Slate/The Fray in September 2011.Is there some way we could add a THANKS button to the ratings? Why are you so negative? What's wrong with a "thanks" button? Sometimes there's just no other words, you just want to thank someone. If you want to add to it, do it! Why should that bother you?Whadda we need a "button" for? If we wanna post "thanks", can't we just post thanks? Good God...talk about "nanny-ism"!
Another board I go to has just a "thanks" and a "like" button. You can't give anyone any kind of negative rating. I don't go there very often .At one time,I thought we had a Thanks button when most of us moved here from Slate/The Fray in September 2011.

Thanks!simple question....why do you require a "button", in order to express your gratitude?
I don't "require" anything....it's just a suggestion. Express it any way you want...don't use the button. It really isn't a big deal.simple question....why do you require a "button", in order to express your gratitude?
The Informative button sort of does the same thing. But I could probably change the name on one of the buttons to be a thanks button. Is there some way we could add a THANKS button to the ratings? "Useful" is seldom used. Change it to "Thanks".The Informative button sort of does the same thing. But I could probably change the name on one of the buttons to be a thanks button.
The Useful button is now the Thanks! button"Useful" is seldom used. Change it to "Thanks".
I have a hard time distinguishing among Like, Agree, and Thanks. I'd use Creative when I thought someone was foolishly praising someone or some ideology, but others might not understand my sarcasm. I might instead take Creative literally and mean it's a great new idea. I might use Informative about something I may not agree is that relevant, but that I would take into consideration. Again, Optimistic would be too much like my Creative, meaning the poster is kidding himself. Where would Friendly fit in?The Useful button is now the Thanks! button
enjoy
Ms. Caroljo,Is there some way we could add a THANKS button to the ratings? There's many times I'd like to tell someone Thanks for their post, and I'm sure others have too. Is anyone else interested in this?

On another forum, I just used Thanks to mean, "Thanks for unintentionally revealing that you are just the opposite of what you think the facts you told us about yourself imply." But the posters who know me can figure out what I must really mean.
Subtlety, nuanceMs. Caroljo,
I actually got to disagree with you. There are too many buttons already. Not that I don't appriciate all the ratings I've been given, but it seems to me that all that really is needed is the thumbs up, thumbs down (what's the difference between that and agree/disagree), funny, and prized buttons.
