Sure thing. We have Bin Laden trapped. Command on the ground asks for reinforcements. Request denied. And Bush/Cheney and Rumsfeld were briefed on the request. Rumsfeld was afraid that it would look like an American war and didn't want to piss off the locals.....Are you freakin' kidding me?

We have about 10,000 troops in Afghanistan and large numbers of Taliban and Al Qaeda escape to Pakistan...the result? We were still fighting them 10 years later. Bush had already taken his eye off the ball in November 2001. Rumsfeld told Franks to prepare plans for an invasion of Iraq and got his first briefing in December....just about the time that Dalton Fury was asking for reinforcements in Tora Bora.
Bush tells one lie after another to gain support for a completely unnecessary invasion of Iraq. We invade, he puts Jay Garner in charge....Garner makes great strides towards bringing the Iraqi army back to their barracks, this time as an ally and to help bring stability to the country. He also starts the machinery to hold elections. We are on the road to withdrawal. Bush replaces Garner (former Lt. General and middle east expert, with Paul Bremer...political hack and middle east neophyte. They now disband the Iraqi army and the Iraqi government (no Baath party member can work in government)....
The insurgency now has about 250,000 armed soldiers to recruit from...because there are no other jobs.
The result....we are fighting that war for 7 or 8 more years. The insurgency which was Al Qaeda in Iraq comes back as ISIL and we are still helping fight them in 2015.
Genius? In you book only. Too bad you are more interested in your political party than in the welfare of your country.
So now you'd like to make Bush look better than he was and blame Obama for the withdrawal of troops from Iraq in 2011....but that was part of a binding agreement that Bush negotiated and signed. Sluggo "Oh, but Obama screwed up by negotiating a new agreement"......Really? Obama offered Maliki a new agreement....Maliki turned it down.
Well....it was Obama's fault anyway....is that right Sluggo?
Bush wanted to overthrow a dictator.....it cost us 4,500 American lives and a couple trillion dollars. Obama wanted to overthrow a dictator and it cost us a few million and no American lives.
All you care about is what party he belongs to.
