It wasn't "35 years ago". It was 50+ years ago. Nevertheless, my erstwhile Republican mother - even after flipping to the Dems post '64, never did fully warm up to Carter. The top-posted photo is the main reason why. The other was that real men named James, don't call themselves "Jimmy".

Indeed it was. At that time, the Civil War was even more recent, the wounds less healed. Carter was and remains to this day a bigot, one of the worst of our times. He is one of the reasons so much of the left hates Jews...

As a Democrat, Carter isn't one of my leading lights. Personally, I don't like the idea of going "all in" with the Palestinians OR the Israelis. It's fundamentally dishonest to do so, unless you're a Palestinian or an Israeli!
Carter of course, has gone "all in" with the Palestinians.

That doesn't answer the question of why American Jews are so much more inclined to voting left as opposed to right. Are we thinking they're stupid, or duped?
