2. No, the embargo didn't keep Cuba from sending military equipment or soldiers to other countries....just how do you think the embago would have done what you suggest?
3. The bay of pigs was an operation started by Eisenhower. Kennedy was too new at the job to stand up to the CIA and Pentagon.

The embargo on Cuba has done nothing worth the effort. Fidel outlasted Eisenhower, Kennedy, LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush, Clinton and George W....It was time for it to end.

Being a veteran does not imbue one with all military knowledge. Rumsfeld was a Navy pilot. He didn't know shit about infantry warfare. Kennedy was a PT boat commander. That you think he'd have known all about a sea borne invasion is funny.

1. So you have no answer to my first point. Are you saying anyone who has served in the military knows everything they need to know to invade a country?
2. The CIA and Pentagon assessment he got, which was passed to him by the Eisenhower administration, was a lie. They knew that the population of Cuba would not rise up, they'd fight the invasion. That is why we had a small fleet backing up the Cubans.

Do you know anything at all about Batista? It was clear that the Cubans preferred Castro...and you think we had the right to deliver a different government than what they had chosen.
