If anyone else but a richkid like Gates had invented BASIC, he would have had the patent stolen by corporate parasites like Gates himself. Even though employment-contract slavery is legal, The Rule of Law Is the Law of the Rulers, so we don't have to honor those contracts. But I already made that point; you just refuse to admit any evidence proving that the Capitalists are the moochers Ayn Rand claims their victims are.
John Galt was a patsy, not a hero. He would have been perfectly willing to let his Gatesian bosses steal the value of his invention and loaf in luxury off his intellectual property if they hadn't become socialists. And that contradicts her ideology, too; Righties always claim that the rich can blow their money on charity because it's their money and they can even do that with it.
I agree with you about Gates. He's not the big hearted philanthropist he is purported to be. He's about population control and the extinction of several populations in the world. And as far as he's concerned, old people don't deserve quality medical care. He's also not leaving his kids anything.
But this business of rounding up the 1% and arresting them.....that's nutty Boltlady. It's not what we do in America. Whether they inherited or worked for their money, it's THEIR money. Just like what's yours is yours. IF you don't like a tax structure or corporate loopholes, you fight to change those things. You don't lock people up. That's communism.

If part of that 1% inherited or worked for their money then I agree, it's their money. However there are oh so many of them that have gotten their money from fraud or by using their power that comes with that money to literally screw over those who have no chance against them. I'm not talking about simply besting them in business deals, but deliberately setting them up to be bled dry. There's so much more of that than people realize.
An example would be the mortgage fiasco. People were led to believe that they could buy homes, and bigger homes than they would be able to handle. Since it's their business the bankers knew full well what would happen and so many people lost everything they had. Everybody that got into it was stupid, they simply trusted what the bankers had to say.
I can use myself as somewhat of an example on that because even 15 years ago when I bought the house that I'm in now, the banker approved me for nearly twice what I bought my home for. If I had gone along with it I can see where I could have gotten into a lot of trouble as the inevitable situations arose during that time. I wouldn't have been able to cover those situations and could have lost everything as so many others did.
The mortgage thing is only one of so many possible examples. The reason I suggested arresting them so they would be investigated is that there are so many more of the kind who have gotten their big bucks through the bloodletting of those who could least afford it than there is of those who came by them legitimately. The legitimate ones could be quickly exonerated but those others need to be brought down a peg.
People like Jon Corzine should be in jail as we speak but it simply won't happen. There again, that's only one example of oh so many.
