I don't see a link for your read.. But I was reading about his brother, Jericho, yeaterday. That's terrible news, Jericho had stepped in take care of Cecil's cubs according to yesterday's read.

This is great news. The information I read must have been wrong. I am delighted to get this new report.

I'm sick of that lion. Thousands of people die every day in useless wars and no one cares about them and for some reason this dirty animal drew so much attention. That's just double faced.

What about the zebras?

But Jericho cannot protect all of their cubs alone --- it is his cubs who are now endangered without their protector --- there are about a dozen of them according to Dr. Andrew Loveridge -- Two prides were led by the two, Cecil and Jericho.

From what I remember of watching Wild Life programs another young Male will now try to take over from Cecil --- with dire consequences for Cecil's off spring as well as the danger to any young things from other predators. It is the females who do the hunting isn't it? Leaving the cubs with whom now?

It is heart wrenching isn't it?
