my son is 3rd generation Mexican, 4th generation Italian. Trump was so sloppy with his words, I have no doubt that he was thinking purely of the drug cartels running drugs over our borders, but he leveled his description at ordinary Mexicans... and Mexican Americans. My son hates him and so does my wife.

Actually, he's done no such thing. It's a progressive meme that referring to the (violent) criminal element in the illegal (and legal) Latino immigrant contingent is indistinguishable from an attack on all Latinos. The fact is Trump has said the illegals who have stayed out of trouble and have been working throughout their time here will be given priority consideration for (legal) status. Maybe your son and wife have fallen for the meme that Trump hates (all) Mexicans, or perhaps they are showing solidarity with the violent members of their race who are here to prey on our way of life (including the "law abiding" Latinos who are forced to live in close proximity with them). What they aren't doing is paying attention to the facts of this debate.

It does however say something about passion and depth frankly.
Those who are too academic or too sophisticated ( says they ) to be bothered by such displays often have no problems with other types of equally passionate displays that could be considered tantamount to a patriotic chant.

You know it wouldn't be so hard to swallow if they were actually interested in being Americans....but they come here waving the Mexican flag, spitting on the indigenous occupants and insisting that they are owed what we have. They don't want to be in America they want to bring Mexico to the United states and get rid of all other society and race.....I mean is it any wonder that people are telling them to get the hell out and go back home?

I'm not sure, because there was a LOT of Mexicans living in old Mexico that became our 4 southwestern states, and their kids and grandkids make up a lot of Mexican Americans. But it seems we have had so many illegals, the numbers have to be close to even.

that depends on where you are. We have a couple million Mexicans in the Chicago area and you don't see any of that. But if you are in California, Arizona, or "New" Mexico... that was all old Mexico. We stole that land from them. So yeah, they want it back.

I'm not Mexican. So I didn't pay much attention. My son tells me he read Trump's tax plan and it sucked, his foreign policy towards Mexico sucks, his racism and sexism sucks, that he has lied the same as any other politician, and he fears he will treat us the same way our Governor is treating Illinois.
It isn't about being Mexican, it is about being American and what this sucker will do to us.

All that is factual and I tend to agree with it. But I don't think his policy regarding Mexican immigrants is as xenophobic as your post suggested.
You are hung up on this Old Mexico and Stole from them like a broke record.......that's what happens when you lose the battle........ask the Indians.
at the protest the illegals should be rounded up and deported...........

It's my post, but it is word for word from my son. I'm trying to show you what an 18 year old Mexican American thinks of Trump. Our biggest fear is that the Republican party will take away the Pell grant the same way they took away the IL-MAP (our state grant).

Those are not all illegals waving the Mexican flag... half of them are American citizens. And it isn't only a Mexican issue, Texas is trying to pull out of the US, remember 2009? The federal government has been stepping on the states for too long now, the unrest was there before Trump came along and stirred it up.
