Actually Putin has a good reason to help Trump. Putin wants to make Russia great again and to return it to the good old days he needs to control all of the nations once controlled by the USSR. He tried to take one back in the Ukraine, but the USA and the NATO alliance nixed that. So if he wants to control those nations he feels are necessary to return Russia to its place in history, he needs to weaken NATO and get the USA to renege on its promise to come to the aide of those same countries. Not only has Trump promised to do both, he has forced the RNC to include those issues in their platform. So Putin has a very good reason to back and aide Trump. The question you have to ask yourself is did Trump know in advance that Russia was going to do this and did he aide the Russians in any way?

Okay – nothing to see here folks. Those 20,000 DNC emails where the string pullers conspire to kneecap Bernie and the other democrat presidential nomination also rans? There’s a simple explanation:
Putin hacked in and released those emails to make Hillary look bad, and boost the fortunes of Donald Trump. Yeah, I’m laughing too. This must come under the theory “if you tell a big enough lie, it will be believed”. I think that’s a russian proverb, or something.
It’s been a long time since anyone named Clinton won a debate on the facts. Probably since before the time Hillary insisted that all the sexual harassment claimants against Hubby Bubba were lured from their trailer parks by a vast right wing conspiracy trolling with $20 bills as bait. (Roger Ailes, pay attention!)
Hillary, however, now DOES have the law on her side when it comes to (a) setting up her illegal server, (b) evading the FOIA regulations, and (c) risky storage/hacking of hundreds of top secret state department messages. The law (Comey and Lynch) have jointly determined that “no reasonable (democratic party) prosecutor would bring charges.” Wow, I feel safer already. No reasonable prosecutor would bring charges for allowing our most sensitive national secrets to fall into foreign hands. The bar has been lowered.
But let’s move along to this week's scandal: “We're stranger united – except if you’re a sanders supporter”. THOSE DNC emails were NOT deleted. Hillary must be pounding the table and shouting in glee: “See, I TOLD you it’s better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. You should have deleted those emails a LONG time ago, Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Oh . .. and by the way: You’re soooooo fired.”
Actually, it took a phone call from Obama to convince Little Debbie she was fired. He’d resisted this a year ago, even in the face of criticism from all points on the compass that Schultzie was a moron. Of course, Obama thinks everyone besides him is a moron, so this is hardly an attention-getting indictment of democrat party apparatchniks.
Let me do a level set here.
The real story here isn’t that Putin hacked the DNC email server. Instead, the scandal is that Sanders and his supporters were right all along – the game was 100% rigged, and they never had a chance. Right down to the 6 consecutive “tie breaker” coin tosses on tied primaries that all came up “Hillary Wins”.
- I have no doubt that Putin hates Hillary.
- I have no doubt that his henchmen hacked the DNC emails (and probably Hillary’s own personal server emails).
- I have no doubt the release of the Anti-sanders conspiracy emails was timed to be embarrassing.
- But I doubt that Putin is actually attempting to boost Trump in the polls. Until a week ago, one of Trump’s leading VP contenders was a marine general who also headed the CIA. Not the sort of Team USA which the Russians would want taking to the field for the next round of “geopolitical jeopardy”.
Hillary achieved her delegate majority through disregarding and manipulating the rules. Sanders would very likely have won the nomination otherwise. Now democrats are being exhorted to unite behind the woman who stole primaries. And presumably she will do everything in her power to steal the general election, too.
For shame. Sanders supporters - take your case to the courts. Rigged elections are still a crime, even if it was only the primaries.

It's hilarious how butt-hurt the conservatives are now that their dreams of Democratic disunity have evaporated. All along, I expected that whoever lost the nomination would enthusiastically endorse the other, just as Clinton had done with Obama in 2008. I wasn't disappointed. But for right-wingers, such genuine patriotism is unfathomable, being totally outside their experience, so they're left fiddling with conspiracy theories about how Sanders must have been bought off.

when I turned on the TV this morning, there was a video of hundreds of sanders supporters marching out of the convention as Hillary was put "over the top". they had their mouths taped shut, and marched to the press area outside the convention.
not exactly the sort of result that comes to mind when you hear the word "unity"
of course and now that his wife has bankrupted the University, maybe a gig for her as well, she is unemployed now!

Yes, there are a handful of Sanders supporters who are having trouble getting past this. But look at the packed convention center and the wild applause coming from the vast majority there. The sore losers are in a very small minority.
