I don't think anyone could possibly anticipate the enormity of the position until you're doing it.
I find it hilarious this even needs to be said- yet someone needed to. What we're seeing here is nothing more than a severe case of butthurt.

And yet, for someone who finally realizes just how difficult the presidency can be, Trump has been amazingly effective. Especially when you consider activist judges blocking you from doing your job, intransigent democrats keeping you from passing legislation, and the fascist left trashing anywhere you go.

@EatTheRich defending Obama after he just claimed not to do that
I'm not "defending Obama" ... I'm pointing out that, as a matter of historical fact, Obama was unusually fiscally conservative (which really is of little concern to me unless debt means the prices I pay for rent and food are going up ... it's not my debt) and asking whether you expect the same to be true of Trump.

Bush's last full year in office: debt growing by 11.3% per year. 8 years later: debt growing by 7.8% per year. Decline in the rate of growth of debt: more than 30%.
Right, because Obama nearly quadupled spending in the first year. Obama has still increased debt by more than every other president combined, no matter how much you play with statistics.

Please see previous reply- not that you're defending Obama, of course.

Again...how is it he was not aware of the complexities? I mean...he did tell us he was the best...knew more than the generals...knew the tax code better than anyone...had the best words...

Was all that a lie?
You believed him?

Do you think Reagan started with no debt? More importantly, do you think your constant babbling about Reagan and the Bushes somehow shields Barack Hussein Obama from the president who ran up more debt than any president in history and almost as much as all other presidents before him?
You ignore that Reagan ran up more debt than any president before him. "W" ran up more debt than any president before him.

Ah yes.... the hypotheticals of the Obama administration. You know you're talking about a lousy president when you have to resort to telling people how much worse things would have been.
The economy handed to Obama in 2009 was trashed by the policies of a republican president and a republican congress. The republicans took control of congress again in 2010 and stood in the way of everything Obama tried to do. The indication of just how bad Bush was is that you continually run away from addressing how deep the ditch was that he'd driven the economy into. Yes, if not for Obama...things would have gotten substantially worse.

Yes of course it's not like the repeal of Glass-Steagall had any effect whatsoever on the financial collapse.
