As a permit carrier I would expect to go to jail for that shoot, making it a bad shoot. After the robbed man pulled away from the fight, it was over. He then turned around and came back to the fight, after it was over. That's manslaughter. Hell any rule book for a person who carries will tell you that.

My time in Iraq was spent on the road. I know how easy it is to not kill someone, that guy didn't need to die for a petty crime. I put on 18k miles in Iraq as a gunner, driver, and TC, we were mingled in with the people who wanted us dead everyday. We took fire from said people on a constant basis. Still didn't have to kill anyone if you didn't need to.

Besides capturing someone was far more beneficial and killing someone, dead men don't talk you know. I didn't see your scraggly old ass over there either, so I'll take your judgement as an outsider looking in with a failed view of how to conduct foreign policy.

when you go to the battlefield you had goddamned better be a heartless demon....or you don't belong there. That is exactly why you don't declare war lightly...because there's really no way to fight a civilized one.

Wanna know how many scraggly ass guys I saw over there? Vietnam vets even, contractors volunteers, hell I know a couple that even went over recently to fight with the PKK and YPG. Put up or shut up, go over there and start killing everything you see. That's why we've lost wars. When we would go into Najaf and level a neighborhood out of a desire for revenge, all based on information that some guy there was a bad guy (which wasn't the case, he just had a beef with him) it makes us heartless demons. Killing women and children that have nothing to do with anything doesn't make you a soldier or a warrior, it makes you sadist and a demon working for the devil himself.

Yet everyone I was deployed with wanted me to watch theres. I was good at what I did, very good. I will kill anyone I need to kill when I need to kill them, but I won't be a murderer. Wars hell, war is terrible, hell I thought war was beautiful. I loved the rush, the surge of adrenaline, I'd go back if there was anything worth fighting for, but there isn't. If I ever have to fight again it will be on our soil, that's it. The rest is a waste of time and money.

Funny I've had plenty of conversations with my Vietnam vet friends and they say the same things I'm saying. Perhaps we are moral here in Minnesota, and actually apply our beliefs in how we conduct our lives and our actions when at war. Guess other parts of the country are different. Which actually makes sense. It's why I would see those big tough soldiers throwing piss soaked muffins at 4 year old children for them to eat. You're one of those tough guys I'd bet.
