the genesis of civilization

I would like to have the veil that separates us from more knowledge to become a little thinner as I age so that I can see more from this side of it.

What you've said here puts words to what I've thought for practically all my life.
Jen, those were fresh thoughts from me, just so you understand how far ahead of the rest of us you have lived... that had to be frustrating.

I've got a hoist design that is still waiting for technology to make it practical. I can relate a little bit. What I love about my design is it takes planetary gearing to another level, but it employs them with a world war II era motor/generator. That much was available 50 years ago, what I'm waiting on is energy systems; whether that is solar, battery, laser... the technology needs another couple of decades and I don't have that much time left to wait for it. At some point, I am going to need to make some tough choices, or just feed the design to a University for posterity... the hoist can climb 1000 meters... there isn't a roof that high on the planet, the need for the hoist is still a couple of decades off also.

gotta tell you, my veil got thinned the hard way; you do realize what takes the veil away, right? (death) I'm holding onto my veil as long as I can. lol

I know what takes the veil away. But. Silly me. I want it thinned while I'm still on this side of it. I want to "see" more from this particular vantage point. I have no doubt that I'm an "old soul". I was born preferring to sit and listen to the adults talk (and I even thought I could contribute - hah) .

Sometimes doing something for posterity is the right thing to do. Maybe if they have the hoist design it will hurry up the development of the energy system. But don't take my word for it - that's not in my realm of expertise.

Moses wanted to look on God in his glory, not realizing it was a death wish!

But we have a better way, we grow from glory to glory by the indwelling spirit of the Lord. It thins the veil a little at a time.

btw, the training of the manchild is a matter of the clothing of the spirit; healing the nations is a governmental function. I'm still wrestling with that. I've got my own little rod of iron, he's an industrial engineer major at UIC college of engineering; the guy is an authority on Roman Law, he's an officer in in his local chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) ... he's arguing with his mom about international politics in my ear; let's see, some of the things I am hearing, "God and SHPE" and "you just pulled that statistic out of your ass" and "the law is not made by money, money is used to get around the law" and "you didn't give me information, you gave me bullshit" ... LIVE and in color, as they used to say. SOME MORE; "everything you gave me is two decades old, give me more recent data if you want to justify saying things haven't changed" ... now i'm hearing something about big pharma and sanctions... I don't even try to keep up. Now they are arguing global genocide. ((my son is wearing a tee-shirt that reads, "I'M NOT ARGUING, I'M JUST EXPLAINING WHY I'M RIGHT!"))

Pre flood, (predeluvian) technology was in harmony with natural rhythms. Resonance based energy systems that could heal the human body as easily as it could lift giant blocks of stone. God was the spirit, and civilization flowed from it. Then we went into darkness. God became a deity, a person, and really crazy... Jesus called him our loving father. wtf? A loving father. God is a consuming fire, I had a father like that, a real military SOB. David was a man of war and hence, a man after God's own heart. Here we go, God now chooses elect individuals, is actually jealous of his creatures, takes sides in wars, blesses one nation and puts down another, cares for us as if we were his own precious children... anthropogenic deity, complete with a Godhead and the anointing of his presence, his person... totally insane understanding of the spirit world. The stars are given names, the gods have personalities, pandora is given a box, good and evil now have a source... religion goes universal, man worships God instead of harnessing the spirit for technology; in our darkness we imagine we have a personal relationship with a person just like ourselves... and we were created in the same image and likeness, we have become the gods we worshipped, which were deities of our own imagination; there's no limit to our day dreaming, we live to build our dreams, whether they are reality based or not, culture pushes the child to do great things, leave your mark in the heavens; we no longer have any clue what harmonizing with the spirit is all about, let alone have any idea how to practice it.

civilization shifted.

And just when it all seemed to be nothing more than pure madness... Jesus releases the seed of the spirit, breathed as fire into our bones. And something really wonderful is growing inside us. Can't wait to see what happens next.

It certainly seems like madness to me.
I don't deal well with chaos.
It is madness.

First he plants the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil; then he plants the law to contain and control the madness.

I want to tear those ideas apart...

knowledge is the entrance into a thing or being.
fruit is the product of a living tree.
after years of living a certain life, it yields its own fruit.

now, first let's look at the fruit that came from living both good and evil... when society goes back and forth between good and evil, it is madness. So what does that give us? It gives us strict governmental control, it gives us the law.

so what was the seed of Christ planted in our hearts? Well, it was God's laws planted in our hearts. So the control was planted to govern the madness. This was done on a personal level. Eventually it will happen again on a society level. Right now we still have madness from the nations, they behave like beasts. The kingdom is coming to bring sanity, bring control, bring some law and order.

Law and order that comes from the heart isn't overbearing or cruel. It just IS.
And I am ready for His Kingdom to come.

Chaos, confusion and disorder creates fear and madness. Self control and discipline ushers in peace and tranquility. Tribulation and terror will drive you insane. Quietness and comfort will restore sanity. Fear and panic is what kills us... while comfort and control is what keeps us sane; a peaceful river is a river of life, torment and storm will uproot the crops, but a gentle rain will grow them.

Human government is a beast that terrorizes its citizens. It rules through fear. But when it turns to the Lord, perfect love (mature love) casts out the fear. The kingdom is a peaceful government; and with the peace, comes sanity; that's what heals the nations.

Yes.
Indeed.
I experience fear at various times, for various reasons...........but panic........not so much. Peace comes to me before fear gets that bad. I'm pretty good at rolling with the waves.

Still.

I see the chaos of the world and it is troubling. I have to distance myself from it sometimes. I don't want it to suck me in.

I'll be glad when the fearful times come to an end. So exhausting.

Let's look at this event again and try to make some sense of it...

Okay, the idea in the video is subduction of tectonic plates over millions of years. That doesn't move a tropical Siberia into an Arctic climate fast enough to freeze a couple million mammoths with ferns in their mouths and stomachs. Neither does it move Antartica from ice free zone to the South Pole fast enough for us to have maps of an ice free Antarctica handed down from the recent past. Neither does it produce a flood that takes 40 days to build and covers the mountains and takes 150 days to recede. But you know what would produce all 3 of those things? Have the top 5 miles of the continent pangea separate and slide on top of the oil slick like shuffleboard disks at roughly 1000 mph. India could push LaurAsia north in a matter of hours or a day or two; the mammoths go on feeding until they freeze to death... done. Spin Africa in a circle for a month or 40 days... sending water out like a pinwheel; there's your global flood, then have it slow and rest underneath Turkey. Antarctica also covers the distance in a week or whatever, so the maps that show it ice free were the new maps they had to draw when all the pieces of Pangea came to their new resting spots.

9000 years ago... could've been one big crazy event. Coincidently, that's when Genesis says it happened also.

Adam and Eve and their progeny were doing just fine .........until they gained that knowledge that Evil existed. After that they just couldn't resist the Evil.

craziest idea I've ever had... also the only idea I've ever come up with that could explain the flood described in Genesis that Noah rode out.

Okay, here's another crazy possibility:

suppose the comet - or whatever it was - that struck the earth 11,700 years ago, or 11,500 years ago (whenever that happened) ... would if that impact was strong enough to affect the spin of the earth? When you think about it; a globe spinning in space should be pretty easy to disturb; it's not like there's anything holding back a shift in axis; if the earth was struck by a decent size chunk of rock, it would seem to almost necessitate a shift in the axis of spin. Think of it this way; in physics, the combination of the 2 forces and their vectors (one force vector being the spinning earth, the other being the impact of the comet) creates the new force vector; I was taught that in high school. The tsunami that struck Japan in 2011 moved the entire main island of Japan six feet, and put a 10 centimeter wobble in the spin of the earth.

Books have been written on this, it isn't my idea. This video covers it from the 50 minute mark to the 60 minute mark. (this video is worth watching all the way through; this guy does the best job I've found to date of looking into ancient evidence of high technology)

"In the beginning" of what?

Mankind, in our current image and likeness, has been around for 200,000 years. There was a flood as recently as 9000-12,000 years ago. So there is two civilization periods. The book of Genesis starts at somewhere before the first civilization... in the beginning of that time period.

The earth was empty, as in void, as in no land sticking up out of the water. So God had totally flattened the earth, which means the oceans would have covered it to an average depth of 1 1/2 miles. We are not told why he did that, or what pissed him off that time, or if it was just a big mistake. But we are told that God gathered the land together, populated it, then separated the land into continents, and it is terribly obvious that the continents all fit back together. There's a rock cycle, so don't believe any dates in the billions of years for rocks. Maybe believe that dating for stars, but stars aren't rocks, capice?

So God tells man to go "replenish" the earth.

replenish: fill (something) up again. restore (a stock or supply of something) to the former level or condition.

Be fruitful and multiply. So the whole intent in creating man all over again was to reproduce a working civilization. It's a do-over. When a potter goofs up a vase, he smashes the clay down, adds more water, and starts over.

Something like 30,000 to 40,000 years ago, we had some very high tech civilization going on. Which means it was around for another 15,000 years minimum, to reach that point. I'm inclined to believe that the entire 200,000 years played out in the last two civilizations. IOW, there was no cave man bull shit in the past 200,000 years. Man was created intelligent. And there was mankind before this time, but he may not have been made in God's image and likeness. He may have been a cave man... but I doubt it. Even the animals have intelligence, so why would you expect mankind to be less intelligent than the animals? What would be the point in creating animalistic mankind? Again, don't believe any dates in the millions of years for human skeletons. I only believe mankind predates the book of Genesis because the book of Genesis tells me that he did. There is no way a human skeleton survived whatever catastrophe reduced the earth to a perfect sphere covered with water. For that matter, there is no way any skeleton of any creature survived that, except if they were fossilized by it, which they would have, if it was a sudden inundation.

How were the floods created? The land was flattened. Bring down the mountains, bring up the sea floor, and the oceans will cover everything. The first flood was an absolute leveling. The 2nd flood was a partial leveling. The deep trenches in the ocean floor were raised and then dropped, the mountains may have been lowered somewhat and then raised back up, but the water did not cover everything in Noah's flood, it was a docile enough flood for a wooden boat to survive. It would have, no doubt, melted the ice that had formed in North America into the Great Lakes. And it would have created fossils.

So now you see that there was two floods in the Bible. The first one which finished off all mankind and Noah's flood which did not finish off all mankind. The Bible records there were giants before Noah's flood and that they survived the flood, heck, there was still some smallish giants in the land of Canaan in David's time. In Moses' time there was real giants in the land, maybe 12 feet tall, maybe 20 feet tall, before Noah's flood some were 30 feet tall, even 35 feet tall. Figure that was something like 5000-7000 years after the flood, and likely longer. So, there's little doubt that more than Noah's family survived the flood.

Just as there is little doubt that mankind was already on the earth before God created Adam... heck the lands already had names, and already had people in them, so Adam wasn't even the beginning of the civilization before Noah's flood, he was inserted into it. If you think about it, man was created upon the land in chapter one, then God goes back and creates Adam and Eve in a garden he planted eastward in e-den, so civilization was well under way already.
There were major floods in many areas about 12,000 years ago. There was never a global flood. Technological advances begets technological advances as social advance begets social advance. People 100,000 years ago were at least as intelligent as people today, but intelligence alone doesn't build skyscrapers. Civilization was the development of a long-fought struggle with the world as it was.

"Long shadows of Lunar sunrise"... heh... did you catch that? What Lunar sunrise? If the moon doesn't spin, there is no Lunar sunrise. At that time, NASA figured the moon was spinning the exact opposite direction of it's orbit of the earth at exactly the same rate as the lunar cycle... the effect is the same as a moon that doesn't spin; either way you are looking at a moon that is constantly facing the earth, there is no rotation relative to the earth, hence there is no rotation relative to the sun. So there is no "lunar sunrise". At least, there is no lunar sunrise that would be visible to the human eye, had the astronauts actually been circling the moon they would have noticed that. Instead, they were reading a script written by scientists that suggested the moon was spinning and therefore the sun was rising... no it wasn't.
The moon does spin.

why would skyscrapers be a benchmark for intelligence? skyscrapers are easy to build; advanced tinker toys, all you need is the technology to pour steel and extrude it.

Those pyramids in Giza, Egypt have no writing whatsoever. Not a word. Ancient Egyptians would have covered them with glyphs, like they did everything they built. So people are looking at them for their construction and letting their engineering tell their story... and that story reads "power plant". But is also reads, "sound vibration". Maybe the builders had computers more advanced than ours and it was all lost?

There's no reason to conclude that writing began with ancient Sumerian tablets, it is so much more plausible to expect that writing has been happening as long as man has been here and the ancient Sumerian tablets are merely the oldest records to survive.
There are languages that are even now not committed to writing.

not really, it just faces us. by definition that means the moon is spinning once in reverse for every revolution it makes... in reality, the moon is static and as a heavier gravity on one side, so that side constantly faces us.

okay, but my point was that those that were committed to writing would have been lost to the elements over time... except if they had been chiseled into stone. However, the lack of writing on the pyramids doesn't prove there was no writing at the time of their construction, it just proves that writing was not employed on the stone work.

We'll never know what historical treasures of documentation were lost when Arab invaders destroyed the great library at Alexandria.
Christians (ethnic Greeks from the Roman Empire) destroyed the bulk of it. Earlier parts had been accidentally damaged in wars. The Arab Muslim invaders destroyed the small remnant that was left.
